checked in two days early due us booking incorrectly. Kathy managed to swap it over to tonight for us without any hesitation and found us a room for this evening. She even came down and set the spare bed up for us. Outstanding service

"New Showers are hopeless"
The standard rooms appeared to have been upgraded since our last visit. The new “monsoon“ shower was obviously designed by a man. Apart from the fact that it isn’t a monsoon shower (just a trickle of water), my wife and the other women in our party were all fed up because it is impossible to have a shower without getting your hair wet (it was really hot both outside and in the bedroom so showers were a necessity). Also, the temperature of the shower water was not constant but varied between hot and cold while you were showering. Unusual for Premier Inn to make such a bad mistake on design but there you have it. Seems Premier Inn’s priority is low maintenance costs with their showers rather than actually meeting their customers needs.Staff were friendly and helpful as usual. We are long-standing customers of Premier Inn over many years but will check carefully for the future with individual PI hotels before booking to make sure they still have the handheld showers (or a bath). If they move over to this shower design for all their hotels, then we will be going elsewhere in the future.

"The hiccup was rectified"
The hotel is being refurbed and after booking I was informed that there would be noise from 8am -5pm which did not bother me as I would be out in the daytime. However it was hot weather and although a freestanding fan was provided (no air conditioning), it was necessary to keep the window open. All the contractors congregated under my window from 6.45am every day until they started work an hour or so later - which was extremely noisy. My allocated room was smelly (cigarette/drink smell) and unclean however the Receptionist was excellent and moved me to a clean, tidy, aired room which was perfect for what I needed. No lift so you need to be 'mobile' to reach 2nd floor. Comfortable beds.
