Birmingham NEC/Airport hotel

Our evening considered of nothing but poor service, rudeness and attitude from both the staff and the manager during the evening meal. As a business trip I had paid for my team to stay in the hotel and thought it be nice to have a chilled evening with the social having some drinks and having an evening meal. I booked a table for 7pm which we arrived on time for, unfortunately 2 people in the party were late due to a breakdown traveling but the remaining 3 of us ordered drinks and a starter. The service was slow to take our order for the starter and the drinks and food to arrive. The remaining 2 people pulled up at around 8pm just after we finished our starters and had a quick smoke break which we informed the waiter we was doing this, upon returning I took my remaining 2 staff to their room and came straight back down to be told my by other staff that they were not refusing to serve us as we hadn't been at the table for over an hour and we missed out time slot despite ordering drinks, starters and already eating. I then tried to order food 4 times with different waiters which said someone will be over in the minute, this never happened so 30 minutes later I approached the manager who was rude and said that we cannot order as we haven't been at the time despite the fact we was. I found this experience very stressful as after a full day within the NEC working we just wanted to have food and relax. After some time the order was finally taken after another 25 minutes. When the waiter came over she was rude and clearly didn't want to serve us. At one point they told us we needed to book after table as they could only accept food every 15 minutes which I found stupid. When the food finally arrived, which we couldn't enjoy together as the 2 staff were forced to order whilst I was checking my other 2 staff in, one of the steaks was raw when we asked for it medium so it had to be sent back. Then we asked for some mayo and we ended up eating our whole meal and it never arrived despite others being given it after we have asked for it. We then asked for some more drinks and we got refused and made to go the bar but then there was no where to sit despite the fact there was 14 tables available in the food area. According to your website the social is a place to RELAX and UNWIND with food and drinks, I found this experience more of a un-relax, get stressed out, get spoken to poorly and the worst experience iv ever had at a premier inn. Along with this the rooms were not cleaned during the stay between days.

I can honestly say I will never book to stay here again. To start the smell walking the corridor to our room was very stale(like sweaty feet) our room smelt just as bad. The edges of the carpet & skirting board was thick with dust, the bathroom floor wasn’t the best either. We had no sleep all night as there is absolutely no sound proofing in the floors, everytime a guest was getting up & walking around it sounded like a herd of elephants. This is the third year we have stayed here whilst attending the Gravity Show and Jen and her colleagues at the Premier Inn are awesome and Jen even judged our adult colouring in event LOL 😂

We stayed as a family while our daughter was taking part in the English Open Pickleball Championships at the NEC. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was clean, and we appreciated the free breakfasts for the children. The bar’s late opening hours were also convenient, although the drinks were quite expensive. We were disappointed that children’s evening meals were not included with the adult Meal Deals. We stayed in an accessible room, but there was no bathmat in the bath when we arrived, so we had to ask for one. The corridors were also quite narrow for a mobility scooter, particularly when housekeeping trolleys or equipment were present. Overall, we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. The friendly service and comfortable beds were the highlights, and we would consider staying again.

Stayed here for our holiday, very well placed for the airport. Room was fine, clean and quiet, pillows comfortable. Food was fine as we paid for the meal deal so pretty good value! Had red of car break ins but saw no evidence of this.
