"Very noisy"
So noisy we didn’t get to sleep until gone midnight as the premier is opposite late night clubs and bars, It’s a shame we were not told about the noise level before we booked as we would not have stayed at this premier.. other than that the reception staff are lovely and the room was very clean. Restaurant staff were not so friendly unfortunately and quite abrupt.
"Brilliant location for a city centre stay"
This Premier Inn is brilliantly placed for a City centre stay - very close to Birmingham Cathedral and an easy to navigate 5 minute walk from Birmingham New Street Rail Station. We stayed on a Monday night which was bell ringing practice night. You could hear the bells from the hotel, and I imagine that some people might be irritated by that. We loved it as it added to the stay! Although a faster self service check in was offered, we decided to do things the old way and were impressed with our welcome by a lovely member of staff who went out of her way to make the check-in process swift and easy. This is a big hotel and our room was on the 6th floor. Easy to get to by lift (stairs were an option I decided not to use going up - but I did use them to get down to breakfast). Throughout the hotel the standard of cleanliness was superb. Staff around the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Our room (614) was very clean, comfortable and there were lots of storage options. The Premier Inn bed was extremely comfortable and the room location was quiet. The bathroom - with a very good shower, actually had an extractor which worked!! The ONLY downside about the bathroom was that there wasn't a night light, so everyone in the bedroom was disturbed when someone went to the bathroom in the night because of the very bright light. You can't go wrong with a delicious Premier Inn breakfast and this hotel did an amazing job at providing very good and tasty food. One of our party ordered vegetarian sausages and bacon and these were cooked to order. Nothing was a problem. The scrambled eggs - offered on the hot counter alongside fried, were the tastiest I've had in a long time. A big thank you to the breakfast chef who worked so hard all morning. The ONLY downside about breakfast was the fact that for some reason there was only ONE drinks machine. And boy, was it SLOW. With breakfast being a popular meal in a busy hotel you've got a LOT of people trying to queue for drinks - which caused issues especially as the drinks machine was situated in a pokey corner...and in that pokey corner were the fruit juices and the tea pots. Except, the tea pots were the wrong side of the drinks machine - no where near the hot water dispenser, and because of some restaurant furniture placed nearby they were very tricky to get to. Especially so, because of the unmanageable queues. Ditto the fruit juices. If Premier Inn could redesign the location of this drinks station, so that there was more space and more machines then the whole breakfast scenario would improve drastically. Even if we'd gone to breakfast at a less busy time (we went at 8am with a LOT of other people) the single drinks machine being so slow would have still irritated me. We will come back to this Premier Inn because of its central location, we will recommend it to friends and family, we will enjoy a brilliant Premier Inn breakfast...but maybe we'll try a less busy time.
"Lovely reception staff !"
Incredibly friendly and nice staff ! Kindly lent me a fork from the restaurant. Really clean and quite modern. In such a great location.
"Noisy Saturday night"
The hotel & staff were very good but was on 3rd floor adjacent to a very noisy street. Sounded like late bar/nightclub which was not a huge issue. The cars racing were the issue. This went on until @ 3 am. ? Possibly started when night club finished. Not totally sure as I was sleeping for sometime before this as had been in bed for a couple of hours at this stage. I cannot understand how this is allowed to happen in the middle of a city?? Luckily it was Saturday night as I had a busy day on Saturday and would have been very angry if this had happened on Friday night.
"Great!"
Just as you’d expect from Premier Inn. A great welcome, a great night’s sleep and great value for money. Breakfast is good and everything you could want.
