"Ramp it up"
Extremely clean establishment rooms clean and tide, large lifts , large reception that offers cold drinks and a vending machine. Check in is smooth and easy, but rooms aren’t available until 1500 hrs. If you want to get in before that then there is a small additional fee to pay. The restaurant is large and offers a good selection of food on the menu. Just the other side of the restaurant is an area to relax and a bar that offers a good variety of drinks, including tea and various coffees. That’s all the good points, now the bad . It is totally understaffed and while there we noticed one person running the reception, the bar and the restaurant. This employee was ran ragid and at one point was constantly being confronted by another guest. Fair play to the young lady she acted respectfully and professionally the whole time. There was no need for the guest to behave in such a manner and was told so by a couple of other guests. The young lady should be given a staff reward of recognition for the way she handled herself and for the amount of work she undertook. The management needs to look at there staffing levels and not just think of profits. Big shout out to JADE who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, especially in the restaurant and bar.
"Fabulous Premier as always"
Great Hotel Christine and Dodas are so helpful and wonderful. Meal deal excellent value. We love staying there rounds off the day perfectly.
"Nothing too much trouble."
Stayed here for two days with parents in two Premier Inn plus rooms. First time staying in these rooms, great room, great shower. Reception on check in was fantastic quick and easy. Breakfast was fantastic along with staff. Evening meals were also fantastic. Jade went above and beyond even with being short staffed a credit to the team. On the Friday evening a gentleman was quite abrupt and rude with her and just wanted everything done without considering that Jade had other guests to also attend to. Jade stayed professional throughout and couldn’t stop apologising. Will look forward to coming back at some point.
"Brum with no hum! Great stay"
Excellent location within a busy central shopping and transport hub. Rooms were spacious clean and shower in bathroom excellent. . Bed exceptionally comfortable. Very quiet. . Recently refurbished I think to be so clean.
"Surroundings is an issue"
The hotel itself is decent, we stayed in a family room for 2 nights which was really clean and very comfortable. Staff were ok, did the bare minimum. Breakfast was decent and similar to standards in other premier inns. The biggest problem I see for some travellers is the area outside. It is right in the middle of Birmingham around the corner from the bullring and the train station. In terms of that it is excellent. However as others have reviewed the amount of homeless, drug addicts and alcoholics outside the hotel is the worst I've seen in any city centre I've visited. Just returned to the hotel at 17.00 on a Sunday evening and there are 5 outside the doors blocking the entrance and 1 inside the doors in the lobby on the floor rolling up. The security shift hasn't started yet. These are people without shoes bleeding from cuts. They don't bother anyone and the police move them in the morning but the nature of the location is appealing as it is under a bit of a canopy next door to a McDonald's. Can't access the floors without a key card so it's secure but not a place to be with 11 and 9 yr olds. Wouldn't go back despite the hotel being perfectly good and in an otherwise central location
