"Great stay!"
We stayed at Birmingham City Centre (New Street Station) Premier Inn. The location to the train station was good, and we were able to drop our luggage off (it was labelled and stored) till we were able to book in.
Check in was at 3pm however the check in. Machines opened at 2;30 which was good. We had a room on the 3rd floor at the end of the corridor, which had a double aspect window. Room was extremely clean.
Check out service was simple and straight forward and we were again allowed to store our luggage to collect later….
The receptionist Christine could not have been more helpful during check in and check out service…very professional!

"Brilliant Experience"
We came as a group of six with my granddaughter celebrating her birthday.
The staff were absolutely amazing, even decorating a plate with Happy Birthday and singing happy birthday!
The food was excellent and service was prompt.
Without a doubt this is one of the best Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. Well done!

"PI - Birmingham New Street"
Stayed one night in Premier Inn New Street, in a Premier Plus room. When we checked in we were warned that there was no-one on Reception and that we had to use the automated check-in desks. My check-in worked but the second room on my booking didn’t. We tried to find someone to help but there was no-one serving in the bar (although there was a queue for drinks). Eventually we found someone to help but this PI was obviously very understaffed.
My room smelled musty and no chocolates! I did mention to the Receptionist when I checked out.
We were appreciative of the bar being open to 1 pm as many other PI bars close as early as 10 or 10:30 pm. James, who was on duty, was particularly helpful, attentive and courteous - thank you James!
The PI is very close to New Street Station and well-placed for the city centre.

"Decent stay"
Stayed here for 2 nights as I was attending a gig at the Utilita Arena.
The hotel is very conveniently located - literally on the step of Birmingham New Street so not far to walk after stepping off the train. There are also plenty of amenities nearby and just a short walk from the Bullring.
It's also handily situated as it's only a 15-20 minute walk (depending on you walking pace) to the Utilita Arena. Birmingham Moor Street Station is also not far (less than 10 minute walk away).
I noticed on a number of previous reviews that people had issues with people hanging around the entrance begging etc. I didn't have this issue at all and entering & leaving the hotel was hassle free (although the entrance lobby does stink a bit).
I opted for a Premier Plus room as it was only a tenner extra. Handily placed on the top floor so noise was never an issue. However, cleanliness was as the outside carpet (around the lifts) was disgusting dirty with several splash stains.
The room wasn't perfect. Sleep quality, quality of the bed etc was fine but the mini fridge didn't work and the Nespresso machine leaked.
Some of the furniture (such as the desk chair) were showing signs of wear and tear as was the bed headboard.
Overall though, despite the issues, it was a good stay and I would consider staying here again. However, it could do with a bit of a refresh.
