Warwick hotel

We had a lovely stay! staff was really friendly and helpful especially Rhina thank you. The food was great also definitely recommend eating in the restaurant. Really happy with our stay and would 100% recommend.

We stayed en-route to Southampton from Manchester to break up the journey. We were greeted at reception by Rhina who was welcoming, efficient and professional. Rhina gave clear instructions on the walking route into Warwick. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only criticism was the lack of a USB charging point - but we managed. Parking was plentiful.

Understaffed restaurant Myself, husband and child arrived at the restaurant before 6pm having paid ahead for dinner and breakfast with our booking. However we was told there was only one chef, and we couldn't be seated for another hour. Not ideal as our son usually goes to bed at 7:30, but couldn't be helped. So we sat in the bar, until our time to go in. We ordered food right away, to speed things up. However it took 55 minutes for the food to come out, making it now 8 o clock eating. I took my son up at 8:30 leaving my husband to pay for remaining part of meal, but the bill came out wrong and was a 20 minute queue to pay. We appreciated the staff were doing what they could, but it just wasn't on to only having one chef, especially at a hotel near a large attraction and being a bank holiday weekend. I wouldn't advice having food on site.

The location and quality of the rooms is good AND the air conditioning actually works. The check in has 2 self-service stations plus a staffed lectern. However the hotel seems under-staffed with check-in duties shared with restaurant front-of-house. The restaturant is not impressive with the food being standard 'chain' pre-packed, portion-controlled items. My wife's ravioli was disappointing being of meagre sportion size with only a smear of the advertised sauce and served warm (not hot) on a cold plate. Not good value at £14.00. When asked about her meal she reported the temperature isssue . This was met, not by an apology but by a 'Rugby move' of passing it back to the customer, saying that she should have reported this earlier. Judging by the rate at which meals were coming from the kitchen, I think that this area was also, under-staffed.
