Stratford-upon-Avon Central hotel

First impressions are not good as the entrance is very basic and reception is up quite a few steps (or you can use their very very slow lift (like a goods lift) which - to keep it moving, you need to keep your finger on a button). Anyhow, its location is really good. the room was clean, bed comfy and staff generally very friendly. All good.

Lovely clean well appointed rooms. Staff excellent in particular the 2 ladies at reception- Camelia and Emma. Nothing was too much trouble- very helpful and friendly. We will be back

This was a repeat visit as we had stayed there once before. The hotel has been refurbished since then. It’s still a weird building. Reception is accessible from the street by a somewhat scruffy staircase or a platform lift that runs at a snail’s pace and the rooms are located in long corridors with staircases and fire doors to open. That being said, the rooms and bathrooms are now much fresher. There’s more storage and hanging space and brighter lighting. The bathroom even had a purple lighting option that could be left on at night. The bed was very comfortable although it was very high , possibly because it had a roll out extra bed beneath. We decided to book breakfast, which was standard fare. The continental version is limited to basic cereals and ordinary bread products. The fact that the hot water dispenser was actually boiling so the tecould properly infuse was appreciated. You are asked to specify a time so staff can manage the service but it wasn’t busy when we were there. In terms of parking, the best place is the Marina at £8 for 48hrs and a short walk away.

Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Clean bathroom. Good location. Annoying there are two lifts. One to reception only and one to the rooms.

Great location as close to everything. There is no parking on site so will have to find something nearby. The pub across the road is very local but the car park can get busy. The hotel is good but there are a lot of stairs which will help your step count. Staff are friendly and really helpful. Room was clean but windows don't open and the room can get a bit hot. There's air con but the staff can help to get a chill in the room for you. Easy check in and out, which does help.
