"Premier inn need to refurbish rooms"
Always stay at premier inns due to cleanliness and comfy beds but was disappointed with this hotel.
On arrival couldn’t find a parking space in very small car park then found they had another car park with a few more spaces and a barrier to enter.
Arrived at the barrier and tried getting access several times with no joy. Decided to move over to the exchange car park so we could get unloaded and check inn.
Hotel lobby looks very clean and presentable and was very easy to check in on the new computer systems. Started heading for room and this is where it went down hill.
Hall carpets were that dirty you could barely see the print on it and hall has a weird smell.
Went into room and looked clean and presentable at first glance. After remove my wife removed her sandals and was in bare feet she quickly put them back on as carpet was like putting ur foot in oil. Bathroom had black mould around bath and skirting board was peeling away from wall. Again the full room had a musky smell to it. As it was already late and out wee boy was asleep we decided just to deal with it as we were leaving early in the morning.
Then came the premier inn comfy bed policy bed creaked everytime I moved and mattress was very uncomfortable. I wasn’t until the morning I sat on my son’s bed and found this to be mega comfy and was only a sofa bed.
To top off the experience there is the parking.
£17.00 per night to park within the premier inn car park charged for Horizon parking company. The exchange want £34.00 for 24hrs however found a side street opposite car park with council meters £3.00 for 24hrs.
I made a member of staff aware of my findings

"Overall very good."
Bedroom was clean, with Air con working.
There were enough towels in our family room for everyone, not just the adults.
(Earlier in the year, A different Premier Inn didn't supply enough to start with, so had to ask).
No scrambled egg as an option at breakfast, but other than that, a very good breakfast.
I've downside is the nearest car park is Very, very small & next door, but not owned by Premier Inn. Expensive at £17 per day, but not a granteed space if you left & than returned.
Multi storey a short 5 mins away, had loads of space & very cheap but closed at 11pm & re-opened at 7am.

"Caring and compationate"
Went to sunderland for a wedding. During the 3 1/2 hour drive i was taken ill. Upon arrival the lady in recption could see i was unwell. Next thing i know, she had given me a hand written get well note and a lovely bottle of bubble bath. To top it off the hotel was lovely, clean, comfortable and perfectly located. I would 100% recomend the pizza.
Would book again
