"Quayside stay , a steep walking into centre."
It was a convenient place for a night in the city at an event. We know the city well, so it wasn't too difficult to navigate from hotel to where we wanted to be. quite away from some of the more popular bars and restaurants and there's a very steep path into the main entertainment and shopping areas so probably not good if you have mobility issues. However, if you're wanting to be on the quayside for events, or don't mind a bit of steep walking it's ideal. The Quayside market on Sundays is on the doorstep The hotel itself is undergoing upgrades which didn't affect our stay but are probably timely. The room is exactly what you'd expect. Not luxurious but functional with a very comfy bed. We did have breakfast ,which is really very good value for money and very tasty.
    "Good location, hotel very disappointing"
We stayed for two nights, good points, location, staff, breakfast and comfortable bed. Bad, the hotel is a fine building in need of total refurbishment. The decor and carpets dirty, our room windows filthy. Some of the tile grouting and bath sealant was black, no hot water on our first morning.
"Brilliant staff, and a clean room, but the hotel is in dire need of a revamp."
Brilliant staff, and a clean room, but the hotel is in dire need of a revamp. Can appreciate its a historical building with odd rooms etc, but it wasn't up to the usual standard for Premier Inns that I'm used to. Would stay again if need be, but just know that the trade off for the bridge location is having a hottel that is clearly in need of some money being spent.
    "Great location for seeing Newcastle"
A great location, right next to the Tyne Bridge on the Quayside. It's a very old building so the rooms look a little tired, they are however very clean and spacious/
"A new low in cleanliness and appearances"
In 30+ years of work travel this was the grimmest dirtiest and most unloved hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Apparently some of the rooms haven’t seen a paintbrush or renovation in over a decade. The walls in the corridors are unwelcoming and tatty, the bedroom walls had ingrained dirt which has built up over the years, the curtains had a number of dubious stains and some of the lights and fixtures had worked loose. Stay here at your peril.
