      "Amazing stay at the Quayside"
I was here for my graduation and stayed 2 nights, reading previous reviews I was weary however, I had a lovely stay at this premier inn. It’s not as modern as a lot and obviously has a lot of wear and tear so could do with an upgrade or paint job however you get what you pay for in a hotel room. I mentioned at the desk the purpose of my visit and received a knock on my room around 2 hours later. They had gone the extra mile to bring me a congratulations card, balloon and prosecco. I was very grateful and made my stay that little bit better. Would definitely recommend this hotel, the staff are lovely and the rooms are big. The one downside is, if you’re a light sleeper the birds under the bridge may wake you up as they are quite loud. Other than that, no complaints.
"Not bad for the price, but not as good as a usual Premier Inn stay. Beware the gulls!"
Stayed here for two nights whilst doing the great North Run. Paid a really competitive price given that a lot of the city was booked up and it is so central Downsides: The seagulls, who were extremely noisy all through the night and, given we had to have the window open to keep the room cool, would’ve kept us awake. It sounds silly, but there were hundreds of them in the area and their squawking was incessant. Thankfully we had a Bluetooth speaker and played white noise throughout the night which solved the problem. I genuinely consider this a must at this hotel, especially over the breeding season which is spring and summer I believe. There were also noises from people on a night out on the Saturday night, but that is to be expected in a city centre over a weekend I suppose. The hotel was quite dated and definitely in need of a renovation, especially compared to most Premier Inns. On the positive: The staff were really friendly. The price was really decent, so I do think they’ve taken into account the gull heavy location and the fact that they haven’t renovated in a while and given customers a cheaper option in the City Centre. Whilst the main hotel was in need of a renovation, the room itself was okay and the bed was very comfortable and clean, which is the most important thing at the end of the day. The hotel is right near lots of bars and restaurants, so if you’re in the city for a weekend on the booze I’d say it’s really ideal. If you’re after a nicer place to stay (or don’t have a Bluetooth speaker!) then I’m afraid you’d have to spend a bit more and stay in another part of town I think.
      "Much better than expected"
I stayed for 4 days and requested a quiet and cool room and was given room 425 which was perfect - away from the noisy birds. The room was large and the bed comfortable as always. I had continental breakfast each day, and porridge was cooked specially for me and was excellent. It is credit for Premier Inn to have taken on an historic bjuilding when others nearby have not been so fortunate, and whilst some upgrading would be desirable in some areas, I enjoyed the historic nature of the building which I hope will remain for another 150 years.
      "Seagull excrements, dust and mould"
This is the worst Premier Inn we have ever stayed in. We travel for work and I always pick Premier Inn since I know that it always offers comfort, convenience, cleanliness and professionalism. We arrived to this location and immediately realized the building was very old, but that in itself wasn't the problem. However when we got to our initial room, we immediately realized just how old everything is. It looked NOTHING like the photos advertised in the listing for this location. The room was dusty, very old, the windows were covered in seagull excrements, the bathroom had mould in places, the floors were stained and just the overall look and lighting of the room was incredibly depressing. It did not feel like a Premier Inn at all, and I stayed in so many locations already. Thankfully the staff managed to switch our room to a better one, still old and dusty but at least a bit better. The images for this hotel are very, very misleading, I doubt any rooms in this place look half as good as the listing itself.
"Adequate place to stay if going elsewhere to eat and visit"
Hotel good for getting to see around Newcastle and surrounding location but sadly in need of doing up. Shower leaked, window dangerous - opening or closing nigh on impossible if you are on your own (to such an extent got one of my fingers caught when trying to shut the window, luckily didn't break it on the heavy sash windows but for the rest of the stay had to get friend to help me to open and close it). Can't say about the breakfast but if you have dietary issues don't bother going there for an evening meal as have nothing (totally hopeless). However, one thing I can say in their favour - staff are friendly and helpful.
