"Very poor for those with accessibility needs"
I had a major operation 3 weeks ago and for a period of time will need a wheelchair - as a person who is not permanently disabled, I experienced the challenges of people who do require a wheelchair on a daily basis. It was very difficult to get through the doorways and corridors. There were no accessible family rooms. I was offered a small double that had a lower bath side, with another small double room. Whilst I appreciated that, as a mother of an 8 year old, I needed my partner in my room to help me mobilise and of course couldn’t leave my child in another room alone. There were no interconnecting rooms offered. This meant we needed to stay in a standard family room, & I couldn’t shower properly for the 2 nights/3 days, as I couldn’t get into the bath. There were no walk in showers either, unfortunately. I did bring my shower stool, but the bath side was too high to lift my leg over and either way the bath was so narrow I couldn’t fit the stool in either width or length way round. I did use the sink to try and wash in, but the shampoo/body wash was so watered down it slipped straight through my fingers, so could barely lather a bubble to wash. I’d purposely looked to see if these were provided to lessen what we had to travel with, so was disappointed we had to go and buy some body wash & dry shampoo from a near by shop. The mattress was very hard and not like the usual premier inn mattresses I’ve always experienced, and strangely the bathroom sink tap gave out more air than water! I cannot seem to change my ranking from excellent, but if I were able to I would mark as least satisfied as possible. I have true empathy for those physically disabled and I would not recommend this hotel for them, at all.

"Premier plus stay"
We had a premier plus room for the first time. Big spacious room lovely bed had everything we needed. Fridge was an amazing touch.
Location perfect for what we needed close to everything we were doing. And with train stations near by with free parking easy link to Newcastle.
Clean tidy and wonderful staff through out our stay. Helped with anything we asked and always friendly and polite
Always great value with premier inn as we always sleep well but this stay we both slept amazing. So even more value.

"Premier people, Premier breakfast, Premier inn"
This is a usual Premier Inn, rooms and services as you would expect. Parking is limited especially for disabled people, and the sinage isnt clear, but you can park in the car park at the front of the Weatherspoons next door. No ev chargers. Woke up Saturday morning, having pre-booked breakfast. Went to the breakfast room and found a lovely space, very welcoming staff, Caroline and Margaret, and an absolutely fantastic breakfast! All freshly cooked, fresh bread and pastries (warm because they had just come from the oven), juice, cereals, the lot! My hubby even managed to feed his latte addiction with their hot drinks maker! Would recommend even with the planes flying overhead.

"They call it Premier Plus. They're absolutely right!"
Spot on.
A great night's rest and a lovely welcome as always. Our first time trying Premier plus. Try it, you won't regret it!

"Nicest staff ever"
The hotel is in good location to visit surrounding areas. We visited Beamish and Newbiggin by the sea which is a beautiful place. All staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful. We had breakfast each day at the attached breakfast room. The two staff who work there are exceptional Stephanie and Cath. They go out of their way to welcome you and are a credit to the company. Not just to us we watched how they were to other guests and they are so helpful and make time to welcome everyone. I do hope the company let them know about this review as they deserve credit.
