"Location is excellent just needs a little TLC oh and the seagulls feature!"
This hotel is in an excellent location, right by the Tyne bridge and the beautiful quayside bars etc. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Check in easy, breakfast delicious. It could very much do with a refurbishment though, lots of ripped chairs, wall paper with damp patches etc. The location as I say is brilliant, but that comes with the seagulls. Didn't sleep a wonk between 4 of us as they just didn't stop! I think next time we will look at the other Premier Inn which is in the town centre.
"Needs A Massive Upgrade But The Staff Where Brilliant So Don't Take it Out On The Staff Please. "
First things first this Premier Inn needs a massive upgrade but please don't take it out on the staff they are amazing and work really hard with all the staff they had which wasn't very many. The food was amazing and the breakfast was spot on to set you up for the day. This Premier Inn is at a bottom of a hill which is quite steep so if you're disabled or struggle with walking then this location isn't for you. People will complain about the problems but for a budget Premier Inn it does the trick so remember if you want a really up to the standard modern place to stay try their new location called The Gate.
    "Absolute dump"
Absolute dump. Heating / cooling didn’t work. Damage all over the room. Thought I was in a hostel. Had seagulls nesting outside the window and didn’t sleep a wink. I normally book premier inns for business as you know what you’re getting but this place was shocking. Complained at the time and got told by staff there was nothing they can do. I’ve since complained direct to premier inns but they are just robbing me off. Won’t take another chance on a premier inns. Avoid this place.
"Travellodge from now on nothing premier about it."
Accidentally booked instead of travellodge. Won’t make mistake again. Crammed a double bed into single room can only access one side of bed. No main light just dim bedside one with broken shade. Toilet tissue dispenser mounted behind toilet so can’t reach. Carpet felt dirty to walk on in bare feet. Secondary double glazing meant dirty windows couldn’t see out of.

A trip to see family in Newcastle, so booked the Quayside Premier inn. Even before we checked in, arrived at 11:00 am with bags and a suitcase, Morgan at reception was able to take our bags for safe keeping until we checked in after 3:00 pm. Was able to go around the Quayside and see the Spanish Galleon and go for lunch with mum and nephew without having to lug the bags and case. At the premier inn, bumped into Premier Inn Paul, who was off work, but very friendly and welcoming and asking after my wife who was away at Premier inn Westcliffe in Bournemouth! Great time at the location and staff are always very helpful and welcoming. The building may be quite old, but a shiny new one with unwelcoming staff would make it just an unpleasant stay. The people is what makes a place. The Team at Quayside are a credit to the company. We have been staying here with our children since they were small and after many years, we still come here. They love it here and can even recognise the rooms we get allocated as ones we stayed in when they were 8 or 9; now in their mid 20s. We’ll definitely be back.
