Woking West (A324) hotel

Having dropped our bags quickly in the afternoon, we came back to the room (Room 208) around 11:30 having been out with family. We spotted some ants on the table and then our daughter found more on the surface by the sink when she went to brush her teeth. They were crawling on our toothbrushes and other toiletries. We looked around and saw even more on the carpet and in the doorway. We asked at reception to change rooms, but the hotel was fully booked. My husband suggested to them that they try the other Woking Premier Inn, which is something we would have hoped they could have come up with themselves. This was also fully booked. The staff not come and look at the issue and offered no further help other than suggesting we find a different hotel, but this was completely unfeasible at this time and would likely have been extremely expensive. This meant we had to drive home instead and we did not get home until 2am. We were told by reception that if we contacted guest relations the next day we would easily get a refund. In reality it has taken nearly 2 weeks for this to be agreed, apparently because guest relations could not get the hotel to give them the required feedback. Guest relations also mentioned that the hotel was confused as they are aware of the issue at the hotel, but not in the rooms. Had they come and looked they would have clearly seen it.

No air con, could not cool room down even with fan. Only 1 window that opened 4 Inches. No glasses or disposable cups in bathroom.

Admittedly we stayed on the hottest night of the year so far however the room temperature was unbearable. I've never known heat like it all afternoon and night. We couldn't breathe. The window only opened a few inches and this premier inn doesn't have air conditioning. A fan was provided but proved fruitless in the heat. We laid naked on the bed with the mat and hand towel made wet, laid on our bodies. Very attractive! If we hadn't gone out for something to eat and had our car written off en route we could have slept in the car because at least we could have opened the windows!

No air conditioning at this particular hotel, but this is clearly written in the description of facilities. There were 2 high powered 360 fans in operation in our room when we walked in, which really helped on a very hot day (and night)! There were refurbishment works in progress, but this was stated at time of booking and didn't cause any problems for us. The bar was very comfortable, and also had a nice outside area to sit near to the canal. Food was lovely and tasty and service very good. The breakfast area is upstairs in the bar area with plenty to choose from. Was able to walk alongside the canal and see the numerous locks. Overall, a very nice comfortable place to stay, and would stay again.

An absolute rip of! Charged us £129 for the night of Thursday 9July B and B. Given a small room, no air com, just a small fan that was ineffective in the middle of a heatwave. The worst night ever attempting to sleep in a noisy oven.
