Guildford North (A3) hotel

Excellent welcome from the team from premier inn. Great atmosphere. Room was clean and tidy. Food service was excellent. Giving a special mention to Tracy for her wonderful hospitality.. I highly recommend this hotel.

Really lovely staff here that couldn’t do enough to help but I’ve only given 4/5 stars because there’s not enough of them. Not their fault at all - but Premier Inn need to recruit more staff to help the current ones run their Hotels. The staff here were rushed off their feet and were so efficient and great to deal with - nothing was a problem. So it’s for the Heads at the top of Premier Inn I’m omitting one star - not the actual staff I met. Great dinner and also breakfast too! 🤗

Ever since whitbread closed all of their restaurants in a desperate attempt to save their hotel chain (leaving 30,000 people without jobs) the standards have dropped significantly for the hotel and the restaurant. The hotel rooms are dated and the air con is bubbly and spores are about to come out the unit to fill your lungs and zombify you. The rooms are musky and damp and just overall a terrible experience. If you’re a company I wouldn’t bother paying for the meal deal, the menu is so restricted and stripped back. Service in the hotel is now split between the hotel staff trying to cover 2 jobs at once. Service in the restaurant is dire, we waited 40 minutes for drinks, 1 hour for starters and 1 hour 30 for a main meal. The restaurant has been rather empty at this point too. The food was a rubbery mess and I’d have rather eaten the toenail clipping in the corner of the room. I do not recommend this diabolical chain to anyone and would rather sleep in the car.

Perfect. Lovely and clean, clearly labelled, with helpful, on the ball staff who looked after us well. A credit to the Premier Inn brand. A total contrast to another hotel we stayed in recently which was much more expensive (country retreat type place) where the staff were very mediocre, it wasn't as clean and the room wasn't as good.

The hotel is located on the A3 with easy access to the main roads and Guildford Town centre. It is directly opposite Guildford Lido and next to the leisure centre with ice rink, so lots to do nearby. Although it is right on the main road, there are tall hedges outside that soak up most of the road noise. The room was comfy but felt a little bit in need of some TLC and a deep clean of the carpet. The windows do open, which was nice compared to most Premier Inns I have stayed at where they are sealed shut. Breakfast was fantastic, although only one member of staff working. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you had wanted anything cooked to order, you may have struggled to find someone to ask! Food was tasty, and plenty of it.
