Epsom South hotel

We visited for two nights for my son's birthday party nearby. The location was good and the serving staff were pleasant and friendly as was the signing in staff and cleaning staff. They were very busy and we thought probably understaffed. The food was good and the room clean but the whole place looked a bit down at heel and in need of some tlc The heat was almost unbearable up on the top floor. Although we knew beforehand that there was no air conditioning, it was made worse because we couldn't open the window by more than 4 inches. It was much cooler outside than in the room. The corridor outside our room was like a furnace. A fan was provided but didn't make much difference. We had even taken our own fan but it didn't help much. Our family had rooms down stairs where it seemed cooler so we asked to be moved but after a member of staff checking the temperature of the only room available he told us it was 27 degrees which was the same as ours. We think our room was nearer 30 degrees but we had the impression the staff didn't want to be bothered. We put up with it from another night but would never go back again and would check next time if staying in a Premier Inn if there was air conditioning.

Rooms came with a new fan and food was served fast

On the surface it looked ok, but the cleaning rota needs a bit of a shake up. The remote control was absolutely caked in dirt, got bitten twice from whatever was in the bed and the coffee machine and toaster were also absolutely filthy. The high touch points could really do with a deep clean.

Gareth was so welcoming, hotel room was lovely nothing was too much effort. He honestly goes above and beyond. Definitely will be returning.
