"The staff are phenomenal!"
I stay at premier inn any time I travel so have been in them across the country. Newmarket by far has the loveliest staff I have come across at any site I have stayed at. On the evenings of mine and my partners stay; Tara, and the other lovely lady with short red hair (I never caught her name! đ©) were wonderful to talk to and more than helpful about local amenities and any queries we had about the hotel. The lift unfortunately was out of service and Tara offered to help us up to second floor with our luggage, however we were more than happy to get it up there ourselves but the sentiment was so appreciated!
The table table connected to the premier inn as well, On all evenings the ladies working were brilliant! Tuesday 23rd through to Thursday 25th! So chatty and the food was absolutely hands down the best we have had at any PI so a massive amount of praise towards them all too!
We stayed during the heatwave this week and we were worried that the rooms would be stuffy and unbearably hot- However, there was AC in our room and it was absolutely perfect temperature the entire stay. The room was clean and so comfy. Overall to me the best stay at a premier inn I have had thus far!
The team here really do deserve so so much recognition for creating a wonderful environment here and we already have our next stay here for September booked in ready!
Once more thank you all so very much đ€

"Again friendly and efficient staff added to a comfortable stay â pity about the lift"
This was a 3-night stay in a Premier Plus room on the third floor
Arrived late afternoon in a rain shower â parked in the wrong place â but clearly directed to nearby parking across the road â ground floor allocated space for PI guests with extra spaces on the second floor â all free â just give your registration number at reception.
Again warm welcome from reception â allocated room â and then informed that the lift was out of action â unfortunate â then it was around 50 internal stairs to get to the 3rd floor â room standard Premier + - this one with a walk-in shower â unfortunately we were a towel short â so back to reception â and then the air conditioning was blowing hot â another trip to reception â not sorted immediately but once we had swopped numbers we were able to sort the problem â but all done willingly and with humour â after that no problems â room perfect temperature â quiet â very dark at night â and very comfortable
We paid for breakfast â one english â the other continental â cooked breakfast cooked to order from an extensive menu â time was not a problem for us â and it was not busy - but with only one server on hand â it may be more hectic with more people
It is a well located hotel â free parking across the road â a large Waitrose close by â within easy walking distance to a range of eateries on the High Street â Thai Street Cafe and Turkoman Bar and Grill â both recommended â and of course the National Horse racing Museum and the Gallops â as well as being within an easy drive to Bury St Edmunds and Ely and a short train trip to Cambridge
One tip â with no room cleaning except on request which we didnât request â if you need clean towels â replacement water and chocolate â tell reception at breakfast and they will deliver to the room
After leaving we got a call from the PI that I had left my iPad â no problems â kept safe in the safe â and picked up a couple of days later
I would recommend this hotel â well located â comfortable rooms â free car parking â and excellent and accommodating staff â at a reasonable price in these days of increasing price pressures on the hospitality industry â thank you

"Not a pleasant stay"
Staff were overstretched thanks to the corporate owners, Whitbread Group. Need I say more? And yet the staff were accommodating and tried their best.
I was left waiting for ages at reception, then my room wasn't ready. I was allocated another room on a roasting-hot day with no functioning air conditioning. I was right next to a pub garden, so that's a no-no for me as a light-sleeper. I requested another room, thankfully, an improvement.
It was very noisy though - soundproofing was awful, but the room was clean, and the bed super comfy as they use 'Hypnos' mattresses.
No car parking on site, but free parking is available in the Guineas car park opposite, so be mindful if you have limited mobility.
Overall, I would not stay here again. Sadly, limited choice in Newmarket, as the major hotel, the Rutland, has closed.
