"Poor hygiene standards."
I have stayed at the premiere inn Lowestoft several times over the last 12 months for business purposes and each time there has been a noticeable decline in hygiene standards. First morning there was no hot food available as I am led to believe the chef did not turn in for work, Dirty cutlery, infestation of flies, sticky tables, putrid smell in the bar area, this morning I went to have a cup of coffee and after choosing six mugs I eventually found a clean one. I pointed this out to the manager and he removed the six mugs that I had discarded and never checked all the other mugs that was left on the tray, I saw several other guests experience the same issue after me.Surely the tray of mugs should have been removed and re washed !! Most of the staff are pleasant and work really hard but are let down by some of their colleagues, management and in general the hotel standards. Thank god this hotel is due to be closed as it should be condemned. I will think twice about staying at a premiere Inn again. đĄ

"Quiet stay in Lowestoft."
The hotel is very good, good parking friendly staff. Room very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was helpful yourself to toast drinks etc, you have to order cooked food. The staff very quick and friendly. The evening meal was very good however you had to book if you wanted to eat in the restaurant (enjoined Beefeater to the hotel)something I didn't know as I don't remember seeing this on the website. We did order food and ate in the bar area. The bar closed at 9pm again this information would of been useful when we arrived. We couldn't go anywhere else as the hotel is out of the way from anywhere else. Would be helpful if this information was in the room when we arrived. On the whole we enjoyed our stay and would recommend. It's only a 8 minute drive to the sea front. We were happy to drive and spend the day in Lowestoft. Only fault was the bar closing at 9pm we would of liked a little longer to relax with a drink.

"Only 1 Star rating given because it is not possible to give a zero score"
Following our stay at the Premier Inn Lowestoft site on the 3rd August for 4 nights we wrote to the CEO of Whitbread because the standards there have fallen below what would be deemed acceptable by the local Environmental Health Department should they have been informed.
We offered Premier Inn some feedback following our recent stay and gave them time to investigate the issues raised but they have not responded in an acceptable timeframe so obviously they have not taken the matter seriously.
Most companies view feedback as a chance to improve if it is negative and goodness only knows the site in Lowestoft is in need of urgent improvements.
As a little background we have stayed at a number of Premier Innâs over the years and we are bound to say that the standard varies widely depending where you are but nothing was as bad as found at Lowestoft.
That said none of the sites that we have visited previously measured up to the lovely establishment featured in the television adverts showing the actor enjoying a restful nights sleep.
My partner our grandson and I were greeted by friendly staff upon our arrival but it was plain that our room was not ready even though we had paid the early check in fee and arrived at 14-30.
After some phone calls a room was found for us and we went to unpack and settle in.
We wish to add that all of the staff at this site were friendly and helpful and we did not mention our dissatisfaction while there we chose to take photoâs and provide a written account of our experience in room 25 because it was so bad and it would not be possible to rectify the issues in the short term.
Given the circumstances in the accommodation block and also at the restaurant we recommend that Senior Management make an unannounced visit to this site to confirm our observations for yourselves.
⢠The flush mechanism was hard to operate and required two attempts to effectively flush the toilet.
⢠The extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy and woke up everyone in the bedroom every time someone used the toilet during the night
⢠The silver is peeling off from the mirror along the entire top edge.
⢠The chrome plated finish has peeled off from the basin plug hole leaving a rough surface that provides an environment for microbes to inhabit
⢠The plug provided to stop up the basin has a chain and anchor but no hole in the basin to attach the item.
⢠Only some of the power points actually work and one socket in particular only works with the plug at a strange angle with the left hand pin exposed.
⢠The building was very hot and even with the window open to the limit of itâs restricted opening the room was like an oven but the fan provided was too noisy to use during the night.
⢠When we went to the restaurant we were appalled by the condition of the table tops that were sticky because of the thick layer of microbial film that had built up over a long time scale due to inadequate cleaning.
⢠The cutlery was also dirty having lime scale deposits left by the dishwasher that are not permitted as they are a site for microbes to inhabit.
⢠On our last day there was a delivery truck with a very vexed driver in the car park attempting to make a delivery that was not possible because the restaurant was closed at short notice said to be due to a gas leak.
⢠No one from this appalling Management Team bothered to advise the driver not to attend and we expect that it is this same Management Team that has allowed the standards to slip so badly at this site.
Finally if you need to stay at Lowestoft we advise you not to stay at this unhygienic site.
