"Very good friendly service, highly recommended"
Superb service from Abbie, Adam and Nigel, very friendly and helpful on arrival, rooms lovely modern and clean and the food on the evening was very good top classic standard, considering they looked very busy the quality and service was still brilliant, very friendly and couldn't do enough to keep us happy, highly recommended if in the area.... it was a Sunday night before going to Jimmy Doherty's Farm and wildlife park.
"A nice Premier Inn."
A lovely hotel all round. I had a lovely room with everything I needed to make my stay comfortable (including an excellent air conditioning system). The staff were very friendly, whilst the evening menu was also very good. It was also very conveniently situated for the activities I wanted to do during my holiday with good access and decent parking. My only small point for improvement would be to have a shaving point in my bathroom, have 1 or 2 more disabled parking bays, and a slightly more varied menu. But overall, it was an excellent stay and I was able to have a really enjoyable holiday.

The rooms were well decorated and in good order but after a long day, to be told you cant eat ( I was offered a table 90 mins after I arrived 6.30pm) in a half empty restaurant/hotel because there were only two chefs on, was ridiculous. Having seen the food coming out and the corresponding prices for them, I decided my pot noodle in my room was a safer and cheaper option rather than wait, risk starvation and disappointment. It was obvious that they didn't want the additional work and inconvenience. The rooms were 25/26 degrees all night when it was only 21 ( at the time of check in) and 13 in the morning outside. I could only open the window 2 inches and fan only helps to move the warm air around in the room. Add to that the constant drone of heavy traffic from the A14 next door, and I was not getting the "Guaranteed sleep" our beloved Lenny Henry promises us! I have used PI for over 5 years (probably once a month in that time) and all over the UK and this was by far the worst experience. This is the worst experience I've had in that time and feel that perhaps a change of brand is now due. I don't expect perfection nor do I expect to be fed on a whim but you may want to reflect on how you handle your regular customers and also how you run and heat your hotels not to mention the restaurants and and the corresponding staff who are running them. Wifi is a must. It is a joke that its not working/weak or you have to pay extra to connect to the internet in this modern day. My 90 quid, 12 hour stay left me more tired and frustrated for my next day than any thing else. I left asap the next morning and was unsurprised to see the breakfast area and reception empty! Maybe there were only 4 chefs to cook the sausages that morning. Greed by fleecing and extracting every penny from already tired travellers is a little cheap and it would go a long way to seek a remedy for that to ensure long term, happy and regular custom. In my time of using PI I have never been offered a reward or loyalty scheme to reflect that either.
"Excellent Stay"
We have stayed here a few times and always slept well and had a warm welcome. This time it had been refurbished and the rooms were beautiful. Very clean and fresh and slept very well. The rooms had fans in which is great. Friendly staff. Delicious and fresh breakfast. We will be back.
"Great if you like sleeping in a sauna"
The staff are friendly. The place is clean. And we enjoyed the breakfast. Otherwise it would be 0 stars. The room is the hottest most unventilated room I've ever stayed in in civilised society. 28° all night. The hotel is right next to a dual carriage way. So with the window open all evening we managed to get the room to 27.5° but the road is too noisy, so we had to shut this up. We were provided with a fan but this too is noisy further disturbing rest. All duvets were stripped out leaving only the covers but this still left us still too hot. So we were all in our underwear which wasnt the nicest for the kids as we are a blended family but had little other choice in an attempt to cool down. I saw (the times I recorded) 23:36, 00:19, 01:27, 04:42, 05:13. Went to reception at 05:19 out of desperation to see if there was ANYTHING that could be done. Was offered another noisy fan and. Free breakfast. Between these times I was awake much longer tossing and turning, sweating and getting tangled in the sheets. The corridor leading to the room was much cooler and I even tried placing the fan at the open door to cool everyone down but this meant I couldn't try and sleep in an unsecured room. I wouldn't stay here again unless it was winter. I and my family had little sleep, spoiling our weekend due to grouchy kids and snappy adults (same issue for 2 nights) and I still have a 4 hour drive home put at risk with next to no sleep. When we raised this again with staff in the morning they were lovely. And said that this is so common a complaint. That they keep requesting Aircon be fitted here and it falls on deaf ears. The lady who took our complaint was called Lesley and she was very kind about the whole thing and couldn't apologise enough. PI have a sleep guarantee but we were told that this may not be honoured as the issue is temperature related. We shall see and I can update this review accordingly
