Bury St Edmunds Town Centre hotel

This Premier Inn is situated in a beautiful location near the city centre. It has a lovely bar, and friendly and helpful staff. The room was very clean and well prepared. Very good value for money. Easy parking.

t’s become particularly noticeable of late that the ‘Welcome’ at check-in is anything but. Twice now at two separate Premier Inn hotels, within a week of each other, the member of staff shows little to no personable attributes, no warm welcome, zero interest in the customer, only focus on what’s on the computer screen. Improve customer service training at check-in. Provide Premier Rooms with space and facilities that match the ambition. Ensure breakfast is fully stocked. Arrived for breakfast at Sunday 1020am (breakfast ends 11am at weekends). All we had left was the dregs of the orange juice between the pair of us - the rest of the juices were empty. Brown bread empty, only two crumpets left, only two pastries left, yoghurts and mixed berry fruits were almost finished. Staff weren’t bothered or not conscious of restocking. Toasters were so slow. Triple dunk to get anywhere near to resembling toast.

Ideally located for the town centre, car park adjacent which was convenient. Room a little tired, needed a touch of paint, there were no USB sockets in the room which by today's standard is below par. Room was quiet bed comfortable, room got a little warm in the night and had no opening windows, not keen on air conditioning or blower left on all night but we were aware before booking. Evening meal was fine, really nice chap working in the restaurant, breakfast was a bit of a free for all, there were quite a few guests in the restaurant. Overall I would stay again simply for the location but would be better once some minor issues were addressed.

Have stayed here for many years when we visit Bury St Edmunds as it is located close enough to the town centre while still being really peaceful. Service was excellent as always and breakfast was great. Tried Premier plus room which was lovely. Will be back next time we are in Bury!

Overall our stay was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and extremely efficient. From all the staff, reception, bar and restaurant, to the room cleaners, everyone played there part in making our weekend a pleasure. We would certainly stay here again. I give the hotel and all the Staff 5*****
