Uttoxeter hotel

Went for Alton Towers & Scarefest Staff looked after us very well Me and my son, friendly, helpful and the staff in The Social were great, really working hard as was busy give them a special mention Would highly recommend

Car park full by the time we got there, lady on reception very friendly and helpful, room tidy and clean but heating didn’t work on what was a chilly night. We visited the restaurant after a busy day but for the price it was very poor tasted of fried food and very poor hygiene no gloves food touched with hands everything microwaved and sat on hotplates for quite a while. Wished we had gone to burger king.

Not great. On arrival the electric car charging areas weren’t working, we only had 2 tea cups/tea bags and milkshakes for the 4 people sharing the room and the trundle bed was as hard as stone. But this was a great deal for under £90 including breakfast for 4 people. Breakfast was sufficient and filled us up for a day at Alton Towers. I probably wouldn’t go again but if 2 people were sharing then this would be ok!

Premier Inn is just getting worse and worse. I stay out a lot with work and have always enjoyed staying at Premier Inn but the last year things have gone downhill drastically. My toilet was blocked, I couldn’t book dinner as it was fully booked (although I am relieved about this as the in house “restaurant” is tiny and extremely over crowded). I had continental breakfast but there was hardly anything out. I ended up settling for a bowl of cereal and 2 tangerines which I couldn’t eat as they were completely dried out. To top it off the thermostat doesn’t work in the room… Every time I stay in a Premier Inn there are multiple problems, every time!! As I said, I didn’t ever used to get a problem. They have got rid of the restaurants which I feel is a huge mistake. They are depressing places to go now. I am hoping my work are now going to look at different places for us to stay as all my colleagues are saying the same thing. Awful experience…… AGAIN

The room was spotless and very comfortable. A few minor points: the bar shut earlier than expected on our first evening, and the air conditioning was somewhat noisy so we had to turn it off. We also didn't appreciate someone knocking on doors at 11:00 PM on the second night. Still a solid stay overall and good value for money.
