"Disappointing"
Disappointing experience. This premier inn is now looking very tired. Still amazing comfy beds but that is all it has going for it. Booked as usual for close proximity to Alton Towers. However very noisy next to the main road so can’t sleep with window open. Can’t sleep with AC on as it made such a strange noise. No fan in room. Also extremely strong smell of bleach in the room which never faded. And don’t get me started on the new ‘Social’ restaurant next door. Fortunately we chose to eat dinner elsewhere so we weren’t subjected to this new restaurant til the next morning. It was dirty, none of the tables were wiped down and you could see crumbs/litter and food/drink spillages everywhere. Food on the floor. No warm welcome from the hostess in fact the two staff couldn’t look less like they wanted to work there if they tried. The atmosphere was dire, we couldn’t wait to leave.

Amazing staff (Lou and Katie, you have been angels 😊), located close to the motorway but with little noise. Room was modern and great value. Atmosphere was great. Value was good money wise. Amenities were always available, and cleanliness was amazing.

"Needs a makeover"
As Premier Inns go this one felt very tired and in desperate need of a revamp. Lots of cracks and peeling paint, rooms didn’t feel the normal standard of clean compared to other locations. One benefit was proper AC in the room.
Also you need to book for breakfast which I’ve never come across in a hotel restaurant, and would be an utter pain had we not booked in advance over email. Cooked food was lukewarm but tasted ok. Fruit had seen better days.
Overall convenient for Alton Towers, but definitely needs upping the standards.

Great location within easy reach of Alton Towers and road connections. Just on the outskirts of Uttoxeter and you can even walk in to Town from the hotel itself.
The hotel is a little tired and starting to date and we unfortunately had a temperamental bathroom door lock and air-conditioning unit. The restaurant area was very busy at breakfast and although you had to pre-book, they did still appear to be a bit short on staff so they struggled to clear up and stock both the hot food and drink offerings to meet demand but the staff that were there, worked hard and were welcoming.

We're handily located just off the A50 at the junction with Derby Road - so while the hotel may not be our quietest, you're in a great position to hit the road and discover everything the area has to offer. Take a flutter at Uttoxeter Racecourse, or a wild ride at Alton Towers. Step back in time at Sudbury Hall and the Museum of Childhood, or explore the ruins of Croxden Abbey. After a busy day, head back for a tasty meal in our restaurant and unwind in your spacious room and extra-comfy bed. Please note, there is a service station and a lorry park next door, both of which operate around the clock.
