"Avoid - very dirty hotel."
Avoid this hotel. On entering the building where our room was located everything was dirty and clearly not been cleaned or hovered in months. Entering our room the filth continued, so much so, for the first time ever we refused to stay in the room. Unfortunately we couldn’t get another hotel so had to accept 2 other rooms (original room was a family room) which were at least cleaner. A very disturbed sleep with the noise of the air conditioner all night. The photos in the room were taken after I cleaned down all surfaces before we gave up and refused to sleep in the original room.

"Value for money, but unfortunate miss on the cleaning"
My family and I have stayed with Premier Inns many times before and are always satisfied as we know what we are getting. However this time, unfortunately, there had been a big miss in the cleaning of our room which resulted in inconvenience, delays and lost time for my family, especially as I was with two young children and we arrived after 6pm, expecting to get them ready for bed asap after check-in. Due to being fully booked, we needed to leave our room and go into the restaurant for half an hour while all bed sheets were changed and the bedroom and bathroom were thoroughly cleaned. The receptionist and duty manager were however very understanding and polite in the matter, but is was still a disappointment overall, even if things were put right in the end.

"Nice room, excellent air conditioning"
Handy for Alton Towers, about 20 mins drive.
Room was pleasant. We would have preferred a bath, but everything worked and beds were comfortable. Lots of extra bedding available.
Air conditioning in the room was a real bonus!
Car park looked a bit rough.
Asda, Burger King, Starbucks, just a few minutes walk away.

"Will never stay here again."
We stayed here on 13.07.2026 and the service we received from start to finish was awful. If I could give zero stars I would.
We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child, and when we got into the room the single bed was not made up. When we queried it at reception we were advised it was because we only booked it as a double. Which we proved wasn't the case by showing our booking confirmation email. We had to vacate the room for them to make the bed up. About an hour later we then had to go and ask for more towels as we only had 2 for a 3 person booking.
When we went to the restaurant that evening we were advised that we didn't have a table booked. Which we did, we had rang up and reserved a table for a 7.30pm dinner and breakfast the following morning a week prior to our stay. We were advised that they already had one table of 4 and one table of 9 at 7.30 and all they can do was apologise as they cant prepare any more meals at the same time. They offered to refund us for our meal as we had already paid for it and said they could recommend a local pub. We declined as we didn't want to lose our breakfast (it is a dinner/breakfast combo meal deal). We asked if they had our breakfast booking which they did. So we couldn't understand how they didn't have the dinner reservation when we booked both reservations at the same time.
We were told we could sit and wait until 8pm when they would be able to serve us or we could leave and go elsewhere. We opted to wait as we wanted what we paid for. Going elsewhere would have resulted in is losing our breakfast booking and would have been more expensive. We were given a round of free drinks while we waited, but we were then forgotten again. At 8.20 we queried when we would be able to order and we were then given menus. We ordered a kids chicken goujans meal and 2 katsu curries. From the dining room you can see into the kitchen and i can confirm that our meals were simply microwavable rice bags, microwaved sauce sachets and frozen goujans and frozen chips just heated up in the oven. How was the kitchen unable to cope with this on top of 2 other tables? How is this restaurant quality food? We got our food at 8.40pm.
We did not feel welcome at all. In the end we asked for our deserts and took them back to the room as we felt so awkward having to argue and complain at every turn.
In summary, they messed up our booking more than once. But rather than bend over backwards to accommodate us and provide us with the service thay we had reserved and paid for, we were blamed, argued with, given empty apologies and then forgotten once again.
We booked with premier inn because we regularly use the brand as we believed we knew what we would get. But in this case it was far short from expectations. We will never use this particular premier inn again.

"Don’t forget to book a table in the restaurant, if you want to eat here, but be prepared to be disappointed"
Definitely a mixed bag. Accommodation was good and location convenient, especially for a trip to Uttoxeter race course. Where our visit went badly wrong was on the catering side. When we first arrived we were not asked if we wanted to book a table for the restaurant in the evening. We went off to the race course and returned around 6pm to check in. We were hungry, however on asking if we could book a table for 6 of us, so hardly a large group. However we were advised that they could not accommodate that but could provide some food from their side order menu. We duly ordered and waited ages to actually get the food. Unfortunately it was not worth the wait. Food was badly cooked and portions were small to say the least. The front of house staff tried to help but hampered , it seemed, by their colleagues in the restaurant seeing it as too much like hard work to try and rectify things. Oh, apart from sending out a bucket of coleslaw and some sweet potato fries that were far from sweet and had certainly seen better days. The restaurant/front of house were credit to their employer.
