"good place to stay after a long day at Alton Towers Scarefest"
What more can you ask for from a visit. The beds were clean and comfortable , room was tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good with all you can eat for a good price. Services next door meant you could fill up or buy fast food or snacks.

"Awful nights sleep!"
The website should pre warn guests that the hotel was undergoing a refurbishment, however this should not affect stock levels! We ate at 545pm, so not exactly late and they had No draught beer, No Pip apple juice, No banoffee cheesecake, No bananas for the childs panckakes! And the Mobile card reader was not working! I did inform the lady on reception of our dissatisfaction, which she replied 'let me know if I can help with anything!'
We had also paid a premium price to stay here due to it being half term and this hotel was one of the worst experiences to date and we stay at 2-3 Premier Inn's every year!
Rooms (324) are in desperate need of modernisation and better soundproofing (the lady on reception said this block was newer than the other building! I wasn't convinced as the other block had the purple lights in their rooms which I thought was an indication they were premium plus rooms). Doors slamming everytime someone comes and goes from their room was horrendous. We asked reception for some ear plugs but she couldn't find any! The Aircon made gurgling noises all night AND kept switching OFF EVERY 90mins which woke me up, as I become hot! And had to get out of bed 4/5 times during the night to turn it back on! Other Premier Inn (Honiton, Worthing etc) aircon systems run all the time, especially for the cost one pays for the room, this should be standard and not penny pinching! Or at least add a timer to the systems during the evening (8pm-8am) that does not switch off...

"Room good, restaurant awful"
Good location, and room was standard for a Premier Inn. Service in the restaurant was poor. We waited almost 1.5 hours for 3 main dishes, and 2 of the meals were missing the fries as advertised and were lmost inedible. When I raised this, I was offered dessert for free - not much use when you've done the meal deal. They closed the kitchen before our dessert order was taken. We did get dessert though. We heard at least 3 others tables complaining, with 2 families leaving and heading somewhere else to eat. Would stay here again, but eat elsewhere.

"TitleBreach of Trust: Staff Promised to Cancel Fine, Then Abandoned Me (EV Charging Issue at UTTOXETER)"
Date of Incident/Visit: 11th August
Location: Premier Inn Uttoxeter
Rating (Suggested): 1/5 Stars (Due to staff failure and predatory parking)
I visited this Premier Inn Uttoxeter location with the intention of using the electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities, and the resulting experience—specifically the staff's actions—was appalling.
The Initial Parking Error and Staff Guarantee:
First Entry (15 mins): I initially entered the car park and spent approximately 15 minutes attempting to operate the charging machine, which was confusing and potentially faulty. I was unable to start a charge or register my car, so I drove out. This short dwell time was immediately captured by the ANPR camera system.
Contacting Reception: I then went inside to the reception desk. I explained my failed attempt and the receptionist gave me instructions, confirming I needed a specific app that I wasn't aware of.
The Promise: Crucially, I mentioned the time already spent in the car park. The receptionist explicitly told me not to worry about the time already logged, assuring me that as long as I was charging, I had 90 minutes of free parking. She then added: "If there's any problem, contact us and we will sort it."
Second Entry: Trusting this guarantee, I went back out, successfully initiated a charge (for about half an hour), and left.
The Subsequent Breach of Trust:
A few days later, I received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from the enforcement company (likely Horizon Parking) for the first 15-minute entry, as the ANPR system had flagged the initial short stay as non-compliant.
When I contacted the hotel again, citing the promise made by the receptionist, the staff or manager I spoke to refused to honor their colleague's guarantee. I was met with complete indifference and told that the matter was "out of their hands," completely backtracking on the assurance that "we will sort it."
Conclusion: A Warning to All Customers
This is not just a poor service issue; it is a breach of trust. I acted on the explicit instruction and guarantee of a Premier Inn employee, which was then dismissed and denied by the hotel when I needed their promised assistance.
Premier Inn is complicit in allowing this predatory parking enforcement to operate on its property and then actively abandons customers who are caught by it, even when their own staff are responsible for the misinformation. Potential customers should be warned: do not rely on any verbal promises from staff regarding the car park, as the hotel will not back them up. £100 FINE 🙃

"Terrible customer service"
Room was fine (although found a hair clip in the middle of the carpet and a plaster on the bathroom floor so not convinced the hoovering was top notch! However when we checked in they failed to tell us we needed to pre-book breakfast. We had driven 3.5 hours and when we went to the restaurant for dinner we were told we should have pre-booked dinner as it is now a third of the size due to renovation. It was then that we found out we should have also pre-booked breakfast for the next morning. We went back to reception and got a mumbled apology and ‘you should have received an email’. Terrible customer service. They couldn’t care less. Also there was no WiFi!
