Tamworth South hotel

I stayed in July. 2 adults and 2 children who were visiting Drayton Manor. Location ideal for this and easily accessible to M42 with free parking. Internet was fine Staff were brilliant and friendly. We stayed in room 1. Do NOT recommend this room. The hotel itself is VERY poor and not up to usual premier inn standards. The air-conditioning was broken. Although a fan was provided it was far too hot (July) and I chose this premier inn because it had air-conditioning. There were no plug sockets anywhere near the beds. No USBs. Phones had to be charged at opposite side of room. The TV was TINY. My children actually commented that they had never seen such a small TV. It fitted on the shelf. Remote had no markings left on it and no battery cover. The bathroom was FILTHY. See photos. Not even something that cleaners could fix. It needs ripping out and a refurbishment DESPERATELY. No mood purple bed head lighting. The room was so small that all 4 bed were touching. The room was more like what I might have expected to see 15 years ago. We had breakfast in the restaurant next door Breakfast was fine; usual premier inn breakfast but hot food made to order (not buffet style). The restaurant is in as much need of a complete refurbishment as the hotel. I regularly stay in premier inns, but this is the worst one by far. Not up to usual premier inn standards and not worth £137 for 1 night B&B. Very disappointed

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Food, Outstanding Service and a Great Experience Throughout My Stay I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights and ate in the pub every single day during my stay. Every morning I had breakfast there, and every evening I took advantage of the meal deal, which gave me the opportunity to try a variety of dishes across the week. Because I ate there so frequently, I feel I can give a fair and honest review rather than judging based on a single visit. The breakfasts were consistently excellent. The full English was always freshly cooked, generous, and served hot. The quality of the sausages, bacon, eggs and hash browns was noticeably better than what you often find in many hotel restaurants. In the evenings, I tried a range of meals including burgers, chicken skewers, salads and desserts. The food was consistently good throughout the entire week. Portions were generous, presentation was great, and everything arrived promptly. The burgers were particularly enjoyable, and the chicken skewers were tender, flavourful and well cooked. The desserts were equally impressive, especially the chocolate sundae, which was absolutely worth the calories despite my ongoing negotiations with my waistline. The atmosphere was always welcoming and relaxed, making it a pleasant place to return to every evening after a long day. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the customer service. All members of staff were friendly, professional and helpful, but one person deserves special recognition. I believe her name was Shala (apologies if I haven't remembered the spelling correctly). She was always welcoming, attentive, hardworking and professional. Throughout the week she seemed to be everywhere at once, helping customers, serving tables, clearing dishes and making sure everyone was looked after. You could clearly see how much effort and dedication she puts into her work. She consistently went above and beyond, and her positive attitude never seemed to change despite what looked like some very long shifts. Staff members like her make a genuine difference to a guest's experience and deserve recognition for the excellent job they do. After six days of eating there twice a day, I can honestly say the quality remained consistent from start to finish. Great food, excellent value, a welcoming atmosphere and customer service that exceeded expectations. I would happily return and would highly recommend both the hotel and the pub to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so enjoyable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great stay! We stayed two nights and were well looked after at this Premier Inn. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order, so very hot! Special thanks to Chris and Maddi for looking after us so well!
