"Premier Inn Plus rooms are worth their value"
This is my second stay at this Premier Inn and the last time I stayed was a very long time ago - before Premier Inn Plus rooms were (want of a better word) invented. My partner booked us in for two nights and had an upgrade to a PI Plus room for not a lot of money with two free breakfasts for both mornings (never look a gift horse in the mouth). Bearing in mind, Britain is having its second heat worth and in this country means it's even hotter than it should be. Were greeted by Luke, a lovely and extremely helpful receptionist who booked us in, helped me with my bag, got extra towels and found an oscillating fan for us. We got to the room and the air-con was on. Oh my days, it was heaven. There was a drinks fridge with two complimentary bottles of water and we filled it with our own supply of tonics (for the gin), beer and other things. Better still, this drinks fridge didn't make that annoying noise at night. There was a coffee-pod coffee machine (not a huge fan) as the pods aren't great for the environment but we made use of it and enjoyed a decent coffee. The bathroom was a treat. I love my baths and it came with a fixed over-head rain forest style shower head plus a seperate non-fixed shower head, I made use out of both. The bathroom also had the purple light which was calming when having a bath. Sockets came fitted with USB ports and there were plenty of them. As always, a comfy bed and a great night sleep. Would we book a PI Plus room again? I would if we were having a heat wave and the price was right.
"Dreadful, room felt like being baked in an oven!"
Beefeater staff perfect, food good, served by Jenny. Premier Inn, horrible experience! The temperature was 22 degrees at the hottest time of day going down from 15.00 - the rooms were like walking into a furnace at about 30 degrees. No air conditioning, fans on full, window only opens a couple of inches. Mentioned to staff, ‘that’s why there are no quilts in your room!’ It was unbearable, leading to no sleep, and uncomfortable night and a bed soaked in sweat! Feel sorry for the next occupants. What was worse, we paid over £100 for just the room. Premier inn know if the problem, charging top whack without fixing it, and other occupants say the ‘bad’ and truthful reviews are deleted!! Thank goodness it wasn’t last weekend when temperatures were in the 30’s, or I’d have been carted off to hospital with heatstroke!
"Chaotic at breakfast spoiled a lovely premier inn"
Friendly hotel. Room we stayed in had been recently refurbished. More than enough room for the three of us. Glad to have a fan. But only two mugs for hot drinks. The young man at the desk when we arrived late Friday evening was friendly polite and helpful. Breakfast Saturday morning 10am the middle aged lady confirming the bookings was I thought just having a bad day but it continued until Sunday. Very chaotic on Saturday as she barked orders to the staff who took little notice of her. After 10 minutes we finally got a table. The fried breakfast was the usual quality I expect from premier inn. But who decided to set it up by the entrance of the gents toilet 😳. The space was small and they kept running out of food so backed the line up as people waited for sausages bacon etc. on Saturday the same lady while asking for more foods used her bear hands to move the pancakes. Thankfully I don’t like pancakes.
"Good stay"
Pleasant one night stay before visiting Drayton Manor. The location is perfect for visiting there and also huge retail park a 5/10 min walk with shops and restaurants everything you could need. Rooms were hot and it wasn’t even that hot outside at the time so can imagine it gets unbearable in the summer! There was a fan in the room which helped. We would return but not during the summer months.
"Great location, friendly staff"
We stayed here for 2 nights to visit Thomasland in Drayton Manor, the location is perfect for this less than a 10 minute drive. It is located right next to a retail park which has everything you could need in it, Nandos/Asda/Primark/M&S etc if there was anything you needed you could get it nearby. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very hot as others have mentioned but I feel the weather the South are getting at the moment is a bit out of the usual (eg 30 degrees!) so can understand why they are hot. The duvets were taken off the beds and just sheets left on which was perfect, there was also a fan in the room which we found worked well to cool the room. We would stay here again and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
