Stafford North (Spitfire) hotel

Premier inn Stafford. Building work was in progress, so parking was restricted, no restaurant so we were unable to have the breakfast that we had booked or evening meal. The room was ice cold on the first night only reaching a high of just 12.5°. The hotel didn't mend the noisy extractor when it was reported a week previously, it ran so fast it sounded like a generator, it was freezing cold we never slept a wink on Friday night. We couldn't even change rooms as none were available. In the early early hours of Sunday morning we couldn't stand the noise any more, I stud on the chair and switched the trip off for the lights. The next morning when I woke and switched the trip back on, the extractor was quiet and running at a gentle speed plus the room temperature had reached 17° at least we had a few hours sleep over our two night stay

I was totally misled by Premier Inn on this booking. I have stayed at this one a few times - it was previously OK and I liked it because of the on-site restaurant and convenient breakfast provision. When I booked, no mention of the restaurant being closed and 48 hours before my reservation they even sent me an email asking if I wanted to book a table when I was staying. When I got to reception, the people in front were complaining about something - then it became clear that the restaurant was shut for refurbishment and had been for some time. Premier Inn had even charged the people in front for breakfast and were refunding them (making the queue even longer). When I asked what the alternatives were for dinner, they said "use Google" - no mention of their other place 5 mins walk away (good reason - it was packed with no available tables when we tried). They said that a free "continental" breakfast was available in reception. At 8:20 the next morning all that was left was a luke warm coffee - no food because they had run out. I checked the Premier Inn website on the day of check-in and it said it had a fully working restaurant available for evening meals and breakfast. This whole epidsode was sly deception or poor management by Premier Inn - what a mess! To make it an even worse experience, the TV did not work and when I reported it to reception shortly after check-inn, there was no offer to fix it - just a "oh I'll make a note of it" reply). As I was reporting it, the woman behind me said that their TV did not work and another man waiting said his TV did not work either. Did any of the TVs work? The room had creaky floor boards any time you walked on it - the room below must have been affected. Then to cap it all, when I set the room temp to 22 deg C, it did not heat up at all - freezing cold. Fortunately, reception had an electric convection heater that they gave me. I left feeling very disappointed and somewhat conned. I'll avoid Premier Inns from now on.

disgusting at 1:00am they were knocking on our door saying we need to keep the noise down bare in mind we are sat in bed watching tv they were very rude. not a very nice place to stay as now we are feeling on edge.

Turned up for breakfast, didn't book and it didn’t cause a problem. Service was really lovely staff a pleasure in the whole restaurant. Never can fault a premier inn you always get your money’s worth, eggs were cooked to how they should be, with lovely white egg and soft yolk, thematic can always be hard if kept under the lights, but these were mainly cooked to order. If I had one criticism they are not set up for walk ins as there isn’t any public loos and we had to use staff room Loo’s (these are not the most pleasant, feel sorry for the staff). All in all great breakfast
