"Drugs in floor in family room 22… filthy!"
As soon as we arrived in our room on Sunday 3rd May after a long day at Drayton Manor we said it smelt funky and unpleasant,
Minutes later when my husband opened the bathroom door the smell in there was overwhelming and it was visibly filthy.
Stains smeared on all the walls like something had been thrown up the walls and upon further investigation we found à large cannabis bud and drug residue on the floor of the bathroom.
This is of serious concern to me as I was travelling with an 8 month old who is crawling and putting things in her mouth so I didn’t dare let her out of the travel cot for fear there could be further drug residue in the room and on the carpet.
The receptionist on the evening was amazing. He couldn’t apologise enough he cleaned the drugs off the bathroom floor and brought some spray for the smell promising us a full refund the next morning saying the notes were on file and offered us complimentary breakfast and brought us complimentary drinks.
I explained to him we were here for the food festival so we probably wouldn’t eat anything as we were there to enjoy the food at trentham gardens food festival but he said even if we wanted a bit of continental and something for the children which is what we did (with thanks).
Fast forward to premier in customer services who think it is a gesture of goodwill to give a £23 refund and not honour the offer of the hotel staff.
I always stay in premier inns when travelling as more than anything whole basic you guarantee cleanliness therefore I am absolutely disgusted that Asem in customer services thinks a refund as offered isn’t warranted. Absolutely disgraceful, drugs left here children are Ina family room. Filth..
I am not one for giving bad press unless warranted and always feel a good company is best rated as to how they deal with things when things go wrong. The staff in the hotel were amazing but clearly the customer services team due to the financial difficulties Whitbread are in are being targeted on reducing refunds as this is extremely poor and will end up being a knock on effect as standards are lowered across the brand. Such a shame I stayed in Bristol cribs causeway last year for almost a month after my husband had a motorbike accident and the service and staff were amazing!

"Disappointing stay in cold tired room"
Staff were friendly and obliging. Heating in room didnt work and a heater was provided, as this couldn't be repaired and no alternative rooms were available. There was a foul smell in the corridor as you walked from reception to the bedrooms. The hotel and room was well worn, tired and in need of refurbishment. Paint had been spilt on the chair in the room, There were too coffee machines in The Social restaurant, both had notes on them saying they were out of service. In summary the cold and tired room, meant this wasn't the usual standard of Premier Inn and as such it wasn't a very comfortable stay.

The breakfast hot buffet was not hot. Half the items on offer where missing. had to wait for 15 minutes for them to be available The food was not hot warm at best very disappointing

"Style over substance"
Corridors dirty, cups and spoons in room dirty, bed not made properly, I don't think they could be bothered. Water pressure in bathroom no good for showering with, TV volume had a maximum limit that you couldn't hear or override. Breakfast, what there was of it, was cold. Cold beans poured into the dish under the heat lamp. Coffee machine ran out of milk and no staff around to help. Most expensive jam on toast I've ever had. We were put in the new bit of the hotel, in a Premier Plus room - all style, absolutely no substance. The Hurricane over the road is much better.

"Disappointing"
Great location. Very slow service and check in, reception tried to charge for rooms that were already paid. Restaurant food was very poor, ordered chicken nourish bowl which had half the ingredients missing and very small portion.
