Stafford North (Spitfire) hotel

Arrived quite late on route to Cornwall from the North East easy to book online as advised by receptionist for best deal. Clean room very comfy bed and pillows and a wonderful fan in the room. My husband had a cooked breakfast which he enjoyed. Lots of parking outside. All good.

My partner and I paid extra for a premier plus room at this hotel and weren’t impressed at all. The room we were allocated had holes in the bathroom wall where a towel rail would have been and the panelling on the wall in the bathroom was barely attached to the wall. This wasn’t great seems as we decided to pay extra for a better room. What made this worse was that when we spoke to the member of hotel staff in the morning they just said they were aware of the issues already and gave us a telephone number to contact to call to express our concerns. The fact that the staff were aware of the issues prior to allocating us the room is appalling. On top of this, just being given a telephone number with no other details such as a reference number or anything wasn’t great. Albeit we did sleep okay and the bedroom itself was fine so we couldn’t be bothered to call the mystery phone number. I think if the customer service we received was better we wouldn’t have been so disappointed… there’s definitely room for improvement.

Booked a premier plus room, so glad we did the air con was brilliant and the mini fridge wonderful. Only complaint was the bed wasn't as comfortable as usual premier inn bed. Shower was Powerful and easy to use. We were in the separate building, we self checked in in the main reception and then climbed the stairs to discover there was no third floor there! Luckily a kind chambermaid explained everything to us.

This hotel’s always clean and lived up to my expectations. The staff , receptionists are ready to help with anything. Well mannered and helpful. The restaurant is next door with good food and menu.
