"Don't bother..."
Location wise, it was fine, about a minute or two from the M6.
Value wise, yeah we got it for £50 for a family room but for our experience goes from positive to negative...
As we found out to our dismay, when they say no air con, they don't just mean no cold air being fed into the rooms. The rooms are heated with a wall mounted storage heater, not a warm air system that you can atleast push ambient air temp through it.
This means that there is ZERO air flow through the rooms.
We arrived and the outside air temp according the car was 33oC. We got into the room and it was 32oC in the room with desk fan running on the table. Being 4pm we assumed the room would cool down. No... no it didn't..
By 9pm it was still 32oC in the room but 25oC outside. The kids were in their underwear and no duvets and pouring sweat and couldn't sleep. We tried a cool shower for them and the bath leaked onto the floor ( which explained the funky damp smell in the bathroom and the water marked kick board on the vanity unit ).
The temperature in the room did not come down. At 10pm I went to reception and asked if there was anything that could be done. I got a reluctant "I'll go look for another fan" from the staff member. Shortly later they appear with a fan that was broken and fell apart in her hands. I think even they were surprised at the corridor was markedly cooler than our room.
I eventually asked for a room downstairs and was begrudgingly told there was another room downstairs that might be available. I went and checked it, yes it was 3oC cooler BUT stank of air freshener desperately trying to cover up the smell of damp.
Traveling with kids neither option was acceptable and we had to find another hotel at 10.30pm at night with a 2yr old and 7yr old with us.
I asked to invoke the good night guarantee as we didn't even get to sleep and was told to speak to customer service the next day.
I speak to customer services the next day who tell me they need to speak to the hotel.
They speak to the hotel and they are claiming "extreme weather" so doesn't count for the guarantee.
Yes there was a Amber weather advisory, but that is not "extreme" a Red advisory is.
The Gov.uk website even states that vulnerable groups such children that prolonged exposure to 32oC can cause dehydration and heatstroke. So expecting a 2yr old to try and sleep in that and charge you for the privilege, I don't think so.
Still to hear from guest services with an outcome of the whole situation but I won't hold my breath... we used to be advocates of the premier inn but as of late they have gone downhill.

"Great comfortable stay"
A lovely, comfortable stay. Nice welcome on reception and the reception area was spacious and clean. Had a family room in the ground and it was a great size, as was the bathroom. The bathroom does steam and no air conditioning but a lovely fan was left in the room which helped control the temperature.

"Clean comfortable no frills."
Does what it says on the tin: clean, comfortable overnight stay. Highpoint: lovely receptionist called Beth, she was really welcoming and professional. Low point: only one tea bag each (penny pinching!) and the breakfast coffee isn't nice.

"Friendly and helpful team"
Everyone is very friendly and helpful, particularly at breakfast. They always had a big smile and a hello in the morning. They had boiled eggs ready for me when I had mentioned the previous morning that I liked them 😀 A great team.
