"Not bad, not great."
Overall, this is one of the Premier Inns that you get on a budget. Paying £60 I wasn't expecting their top-tier quality and I was right to expect that. The reception staff are very helpful and the beds are comfortable, as is the case with most Premier Inns, however there were a few issues that need to be highlighted.
- Room was not clean. There was women's hair under the bed covers and glitter on the sofa. There was also areas of mould in the corners of the room (Room 101 for reference).
- Premier Inn bathrooms need updating...fast! The extractor fan barely worked and the "powerful" shower is not even close to powerful. When you're spending money to stay overnight somewhere, you expect it to be on-par (or better) that your home residence.
Overall I'd only recommend this hotel if the price is <£70, otherwise there's plenty of others in the surrounding area.

Hotel was spotless
Emma in reception was absolutely amazing. Smooth check in. She was so good with our 2 kids. She asked them to colour in a picture for her and hand them in. After the kids handed them in she chapped the door with a gift for them each. Absolutely made their night!
She is a credit to the hotel.
Breakfast was delicious.
We will definitely stay again!

"Nice stay but found broken glass under bed"
We always visit this Premier Inn when we travel to Alton Towers and always love staying here. This trip was, again, lovely but I found two thick pieces of glass under my side of the bed which was not cleaned up when the room was last cleaned.
My worry is how much of a clean the rooms get. Down the side of my bed was a big cobweb and some stains on the skirting. Had I stepped on the glass this review would have been worse and I would have raised it further.
It was only noticed as I asked my kids to check under the beds to ensure no toys were left. They, too, were round my side of the bed during the evening and could easily have been cut by the glass.
I just hope that the cleaning team actually make more of an effort to clean the rooms more thoroughly to ensure that this type of scenario does not happen again. This was raised with the staff on duty upon departure.
