"Quick stop over - Did the job"
Stayed here for the one night as part of a walking group. We were walking far as part of a charity event so when we arrived we were tired and in need of food and our rooms. Check in was smooth, hassle free and the restaurant food was of a good quality. My room however was very cold with air con. I struggled to sleep as the monitor said “error”. Because of how tired I was I put up with it. Shower facilities were great and room was clean. Credit to Anderson who greeted us in the morning - His lovely smile and top 5* service. Please pass on our thanks to him for cheering us on and making us feel so welcome.
"Disgraceful Premier Inn attitude."
Be aware if you're staying here not to trust Premier Inn in relation to on site parking. A recent trip resulted in myself and other members of the party getting £100 parking fines. This is after Premier Inn staff gave us parking passes to put into our cars and never uttered a word to any of us that we needed to pay a parking fee. Utter disgrace by Premier Inn who when questioned on the matter couldn't give a damn about the matter.
"Lovely room and close to the city centre"
We stayed in a premium room on the top floor and it was great. The check in was a bit slow but the self check wasn’t working so had to queue as there was only one member of staff around. The room was spotless with a coffee machine and a lovely rain shower, we also got the super fast WiFi as part of our package. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and lovely and warm. The location is a bit dodgy but it literally takes 5 minutes into the city centre. The parking was a bonus at £6. We will most definitely be back.
"Hotel location not great if walking out"
Positives: -Good price -Good (limited) parking under hotel (£6 a day) -Lifts -Decent but small restaurant, and good breakfast Negatives: The area the hotel is in isn’t very nice, we walked out and it didn’t feel particularly safe with our young children (and we’re from Birmingham!!) it was about a 15 minute walk to civilisation and we saw all sorts on the way, not great. Nowhere local to eat so my husband walked to Waitrose over the other side of the road. This walk took about 5 minutes under an underpass and some quite ‘tasty’ streets with gangs of young men hanging around etc. Not great, didn’t feel safe. Another point: Our rooms air con didn’t work so we were eventually moved to 2 separate rooms on the top floor by the lovely manager, this took some time as he was extremely busy-we were very grateful for a cool sleep though. He did say he would refund our breakfast but this didn’t happen unfortunately. Some positives and negatives here! Honest review, Hope this helps 😀
"Good location, good price, questionable plumbing."
After a night out mingling with quite possibly the oddest collection of humans you could ever encounter — highlights included a heated rant from one chap who couldn’t quite believe someone had ordered FIVE Jägers — I was ready for the bliss of Premier Inn’s famously comfy bed. The night’s itinerary somehow ended at Popworld, where the drinks situation got… murky. Let’s just say there was liquid from the toilets above and leave it at that. Back at the room, I was drifting into a peaceful, post-chaos slumber when I was rudely reacquainted with the outside world. Warwick Davies’ mate, Tom from Plymouth, in a performance nobody asked for, decided to empty the contents of his stomach into what can only be described as the smallest sink in the UK — mere millimetres from my ear. With my head pounding like the bassline of “Mr Brightside,” it was… an experience. To summarise: bed = 10/10. Night out = surreal fever dream. Room soundproofing against sink-based performances = could be improved. Would stay again, but preferably without the supporting cast.
