"Nice hotel but awful meal deal experience"
The hotel is very nice and clean and in a great location. We have stayed here several times before but this time it was disappointing due to the imminent restaurant closure
When we arrived on the Sunday we asked to add the meal deal for dinner and Breakfast. We were told the restaurant was shut due to lack of staff, which was a real let down. After that it got worse. We asked again on the Monday and we were told that the restaurant was operating a reduced menu due to its closure in 3 weeks time. We check the reduced menu and accepted that not everything was available, even though we were charged full price. When we went for dinner just an hour after checking the menu we were told there was now no longer any steak available, so the options were really limited. Still we found something to eat from what was left.
The next morning we went for breakfast and as we checked in we were told there was next to no continental options and if items ran out they would not be replaced. This was incredibly frustrating as my kids don't like cooked breakfast and had one option, toast...and that was only brown bread. I understand the restaurant is closing but that is 3 weeks away and to have so very few options does not warrant paying full price for the meal deal.
We have stayed with premier inn all over the country and keep using them as the locations and facilities are usually very good. With the national closures of all the restaurants and the potential to have such limited meal options we will have to consider where we stay in the future

"A Good Experience For Us"
Stopped at the Premier Inn Doncaster (Lakeside) Hotel earlier in the week. It’s a large hotel with ample car parking, located next to a popular retail outlet village, and has a pleasant, easy 2 mile walk around a manmade lake, just across the road. Our room was in a separate new-build annexe across the car park from the main hotel, and for some reason we’d been upgraded to a Premier Inn Plus Room - Thanks! All the things we like - bedside plug points, USB A and USB C sockets, and great air conditioning – were all present. Being a Premier Plus room it also contained two comfy chairs and table, a Nespresso type coffee machine, two small bars of chocolate, a refrigerator with complimentary bottled water, and a choice of shower gels - although one bottle of shower gel in our room was empty. We ate at the Beefeater Restaurant in the evening, which is clearly going to change, due to Whitbread’s recent announcements regarding this chain. The food was good and the service friendly and efficient. As was the breakfast in the morning. In summary the hotel fulfilled our expectations. We left wondering if we’d pay for a Premier Inn Plus room, and the answer is probably not, but we were happy to take the free upgrade for the night.

"Perfect family stay"
Lovely clean room. A fantastic member of staff greeted us and really made us feel welcomed. This lady went the extra mile at every opportunity, offering sweets to my daughter, asking us questions, it's really the little things that make it personal rather than just another customer. I wish I got her name but she checked us in and out faultlessly. Good location, great parking. Will be returning in the not too distant future.
