Barnsley (Dearne Valley) hotel

If you have a food allergy, this is the place to stay and eat. Katie, in the restaurant went out of her way to ensure that my shellfish allergy was taken seriously. All food was prepared quickly and separately to avoid cross contamination. Cutlery was washed separately and handed to me in a tissue. The chefs and all the staff were so friendly and helpful too. I have stayed in many Premier Inns but have never received such wonderful and attentive service.

We stayed here for 4 nights. We have stayed in lots of Premier Inn hotels up and down the country. The staff at this hotel are amazing Katie is like a breath of fresh air. The staff in the breakfast room work so hard they are on their own 😱 we could not fault the staff at all. We will possibly stay again at this hotel however we will definitely upgrade to a PI plus room. Our room was way past it's sell by date and for many people the would have complained, it definitely was not the best and needed some repairs and updating ASAP. We soon forgot about it once we were out and about during the day and because of the wonderful staff we soon forgot about it. Well done staff and hopefully the older rooms will receive some much needed TLC

Rooms not ready for 3pm , terrible attitude from staff , what smelt like drugs and bottled beer being consumed / smoked in a white trades van in a dissabled parking bay directly outside front reception with the breeze blowing to the door and only available outside . All of which was our first 45 minutes of our stay . Food of poor quality , not cooked to customers requests with manager or male supervisor being very rude and not listening to customers issues . Restaurant far too small if hotel busy , we could not stay after 8pm evrn for a drink and same area for breakfast was overspilling from 7.30am forcing us to call the whole experience to an end and went and purchased breakfast elsewhere on our 6 hour journey home

Reading the reviews I think I stayed in a different hotel.... The bathroom absolutely stank the drains smelt as if they had backed up, everytime you went in it hit you. The bathroom door had a gap arround it you could literally see all the way through from both sides. The bathroom ceiling was mouldy and the floor looked like it had never been mopped. I think it was clean but it was terribly stained and inground dirt. I've stayed in lots of Premier Inns but this was the worst. That said the staff are really nice. I did report the issues when we checked out, Hopefully they will sort the problems with that room. Perhaps it's a room that hasn't been updated but it really needs it.

Cat at the Premier Inn Barnsley at Dearne Valley was exceptionally welcoming. She was on point with everything. Eager to help and assist with not being to pushy. She made our stay special. Thank you Cat
