Barnsley (Dearne Valley) hotel

Rats roaming the grounds, rubbish overflowing from bins outside entrance, staff fairly disengaged going through the motions. Breakfast poor quality and luke warm, items missing, coffee machine broken, bad smell in the room from either the drains or industrial bins outside. Don't bother trying to get a draft pint after 10:40, staff to interested in getting off home. As always, comfy bed and a decent shower.

For business purposes, most weeks I stay in Premier Inns all over the country. I feel that the service I have received from team members at this hotel deserves recognition and praise. First night I had a problem with the bedding, once reported, within minutes the duty manager was changing my bedding and apologised for any inconvenience caused. The friendly professional service from the all of the staff from check in through to the restaurant was very good. A particular mention for Katy in the restaurant, who went above and beyond, providing excellent service and politeness. Providing the best service I’ve experienced in any Premier Inn. Thank you.

Great place to stay if you feel the cold and need to get up early. The industrial building behind the hotel seems to be employing ex town criers, hostage negotiators.....complete with bullhorns and costermongers, who at 0600 will talk at full volume, right outside the back of the hotel. This together with noisy lorries at all hours and the temperature not falling below 26° in the hotel, even though it wasn't that warm outside, and we had the window open and the fan going all night. Just glad we only stayed one night.

First impressions were poor with cigarette butt's all over pathway and full ashtrays and bins and litter. Coffee machine not working at breakfast. Outside noise with cars racing throughout the night. Unable to leave window open for fresh air. This is a common occurrence according to reception staff Also made road dangerous when travelling too and from the hotel. Sleep quality affected.

although i've stayed in a lot of premier inns courtesy of work,this was the first time i've stayed in a premier inn plus room and even i have to admit i was impressed. despite staff being a bit keen at check in my room (42) was very modern and decorated to a high standard.my room was of a good size,comfy double bed,t.v,tea/coffee facilities,iron and board and a mini fridge and a good size bathroom and because of where my room was located it was quiet.add on a modern looking bar and restaurant and as the location was good for my plans it has a lot going for it.
