"Avoid Yeovil Town Centre Hotel"
As regular users of Premier Inns, we booked into Yeovil Town Centre......what a mistake. We had a family room for four, and it was waaay too small, with a double bed and 2 singles pushed together so you couldn't walk down the sides of any of them, but had to clamber over to get into bed. Decor was very tired with flaking paint, stained chair, and a very noisy a/c fan! Whilst booking in, the young couple on reception seemed more interested in chatting than informing us we needed to book a breakfast slot. Next morning the family went to breakfast at 9.00am, and on arrival we were told they weren't taking walk-ins and we should've booked a slot......BUT WE WEREN'T INFORMED!!! We were told to go back to our room and come back in 30 minutes! On returning, it became apparent there were only two staff for the whole restaurant...... and they had to book people in, take cooked breakfast orders, clear dirty tables, restock the 'buffet', and serve the cooked breakfasts!!!! Way to much for two young staff to do (but James & Emily were EXCELLENT under extreme pressure) So, having ordered our cooked breakfasts we went to get our tea & coffee. Found the machine hidden around a corner eventually, after asking other diners, only to discover, the milk jugs were empty!! So we then had to interrupt the busy staff to ask for milk. Next we went to the buffet......if you can call it that. No bread for toast, no pastries, no yoghurts, no fruit (except 2 sad apples), all cereal bowls were empty. Looking at the menu, ALL these things should've been available. This was August Bank Holiday weekend, so the hotel should've been prepared. Whilst we weren't angry with the staff (unlike others), we were horrified that 2 young members of staff were left to deal with all this, and felt sorry for Emily who bore the brunt of it from people and burst into tears. Shame on you Premier Inn for allowing your staff to have to deal with this. P.S. I've never written a review like this before
"Good restaurant service"
Easy check in, friendly staff, good location in the center of town. Car park is small, so need to use surrounding car parks in leisure center etc.. Yzel in the restaurant was very quick and efficient. Made sure we was well looked after, Would recommend staying again.
"Cumbersome"
questioned even though ordered a very small amount. Lack of variety, everything in nthe restaurant was dirty including seats, high chairs, cups plates, utensils. James stood out for his above and beyond service to facilitate a much needed adapter to charge our phone.
"Not the best! And won’t return!"
This was the worst premier inn we’ve stayed in! Arrived to check in and got told we had to book for breakfast (which would have been fine if we had been informed prior to our stay and had the chance to pre-book). The only slots available were 6am or 10am which with 2 young kids wasn’t ideal. Luckily, the manager was great and said we could try and get a table in the morning because sometimes people don’t show up. We did manage to get table thankfully, but whilst I was getting my breakfast, the breakfast manager ( a lady with black and white hair in a bun on top and tattoos across her chest) spoke to her colleague and said to him there’s to be no more ‘walk ins’ whilst looking in my direction and cutting me a look! It made us feel quite unwelcome! On the other hand, we did have one positive thing about our stay and that was James! James was absolutely brilliant and was the one doing all the running around! His personality was quirky but in a way that put a massive smile on your face! My boys were actually excited to go down for breakfast on our second day just to see him! He’s just absolutely fantastic!
"RESTAURANT CURRENTLY CLOSED."
BEWARE....NO EVENING MEALS RESTERAUNT CURRENTLY CLOSED!!....even if you book the 'meal deal' the restaurant IS CLOSED. (No Staff.) .. No notification just a refund at checkin . Breakfast is slow despite the hard work of the overworked staff. (2 chefs, receptionist, manager & 1 waiter) the breakfasts waited 10 minutes under light heaters (eggs now over cooked) Waiting to be brought to table! We waited 40 minutes from ordering to eating. The hotel is what you expect from this chain. Clean, quiet with friendly staff (none of this was their fault) Not up to their usual standards.
