"Very dissapointed"
Our stay was an almost exact copy of BruceH’s; good room, but shower stuck on Hot, soul less non-pub next door serving 1 type of pizza ( cheese and peperami, ) one pasta, ( beef ragu, ) no side vegetables or salad! Place practically deserted so plenty of parking. Our first complaint was that it is so hard to find. There are no Inn signs on Alvington Lane. The hotel is a turning off Bluebell lane.
"Disappointing "
We had a premier plus room which was stunning. Spacious, armchair, office chair for the worktop. Coffee machine and a fridge. Instead of a bath there was a walk in shower. But we couldn't use it as the temperature adjustment was stuck on hot. Didn't want to break it by forcing it.Staff were fine. We usually stay and look forward to a nice evening meal in a pleasant pub atmosphere. The menu was disappointing. No soup,no steak,no pies,no burgers,no gammon,no sausage,no jacket potatoes,no salads, the choice for dinner was 2 chicken curries, 3 pasta dishes and fish and chips. As well as 2 types of pizza. Desert was chocolate brownie, ice cream or fruit salad. That's it. The attached restaurant was soulless. Used to be a pub now waiting to be demolished. Ordered breakfast but only got some of what was ordered.
"Needs advertising better"
Was the usual premiere, except the pub/restaurant facilities, which weren't told to you till you were checked in. Really does need advertising better. Otherwise the female member of staff that was on the day we booked in was absolutely marvellous. Car parking was great, very easy.cleand and comfortable room
"Terrible experience"
Hotel is the worst premier inn I have stayed at , room was infested with ants , restaurant food was diabolical, the reception member of staff pheobe was ever so polite and tried to assist me the best she could but given that she was on shift from 0630am to 1100pm she was limited to what she could do given that there was no support from premier inn management, at 2230pm a manger called Nicole came in and she was limited to what she could do as they had no spare rooms available
"Holiday stop off"
Hotel well positioned for trip to Cornwall, and room was fine, with everything in working. However I would avoid eating in the Airfield pub next door. Very limited menu and as I ordered the Mac and Cheese at just under £13, the order took ages (with only 4 people in pub). When it did arrived the size of the portion wouldn't feed a mouse, and with a complaint made we suggested a free portion of chips to boost it out. This we got, but I did feel checking the bins for a tin. Following morning breakfast was fine, but the continental was poor and you had to keep requesting items. And when enquiring about some mustard foe the full English they had none. I will finish though in saying the staff were very helpful and apologetic and it's not their fault that Whitbread have really run down the pub
