Yeovil Airfield hotel

1 star We decided to have dinner at the Premier Inn Airfield Yeovil restaurant last night. We arrived at 7:30 pm and ordered: * 2 × Rigatoni Bolognese * 1 × Linguine Arrabbiata * 1 × Vegetarian spring rolls (starter) * 1 × Chicken satay skewer (starter) Our drinks arrived quickly, but after 45 minutes there was still no sign of any food. I asked the waitress for an update, and she told me she was “discussing it with the chef.” Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived. The attached photos speak for themselves. The vegetarian spring rolls had clearly been reheated in a microwave and had burst open, while the chicken satay skewer looked as though it had simply been thrown onto the plate. It was almost comical. The biggest surprise came when the waitress then informed us that our main courses were only just about to be started. At that point, after already waiting an hour, we decided to return the starters and cancel the main courses. We simply weren’t prepared to wait another hour for three pasta dishes. I genuinely felt sorry for the waitress. She remained polite and friendly throughout, and none of this seemed to be her fault. As a gesture, we were not charged for our three Cokes. The restaurant itself also doesn’t create a very welcoming atmosphere. It feels cold, dark and rather dated. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue if the food and service were good—or if the food actually arrived. After this experience, we politely declined breakfast the following morning. That said, I would like to point out that the hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly what we expected from a Premier Inn. Our disappointment relates solely to the restaurant experience, which unfortunately fell far below expectations.

We were welcomed by a lovely young man. The room itself was perfect unfortunately breakfast was not a good experience. We waited 45 minutes for our food. to turn up , but they didn’t deliver the food I ordered !! While I was waiting for my food. I went for a coffee where two of the staff were complaining about some people in the restaurants !! in front of me, what I thought was very unprofessional they didn’t stop until I asked them, could I please have some more bread on which they went off five minutes later I went back to get some bread and it still wasn’t there !!! Once our food arrived the order I gave them was wrong so I went back to the bar to ask if I could have the tomato, what was missing of my plate , The young lady rolled her eyes at me and I did say to her don’t roll your eyes at me and the man standing next to me and said I can’t believe I’ve just seen her roll her eyes at you !!! . I’m so disappointed with after having such a lovely stay in the room shame on the staff at the pub, the food was fine when it got there. !!

Great location for this hotel for my weekend stay. Rooms were clean, reception staff very friendly and helpful. Loads of parking. The restaurant was also very good, dinners were lovely (shout out to Ryan the chef). Other staff also very welcoming, Wayne the duty manager deserves a mention as his team are excellent.

We stayed one night at this hotel after visiting the Newt. Next day we travelled onto a family party . This hotel is a gem! Great parking, quiet, helpful polite staff and easy to locate. We booked a premier plus room and as it was a warm night glad we could adjust the heating to cool. Our hairdryer was out of order but the receptionist immediately delivered a new one to our room. Nice big shower and fluffy towels. Well done premier Inn, this one is not to be missed.
