Weston Super Mare Jct 22 M5 (Lympsham) hotel

Had a 2 night stay. Looks a little tired from the outside but don’t let this put you off. Only had a basic room without a view but it was a pleasant outlook anyway. Room was far smaller than those we’ve stayed in many times at other PI’s. Room was very cold heating not working. A couple of trips to reception and they brought us a heater. Room and bathroom immaculately clean although only one bath towel and hand tail (more towels available at reception). Tiny shelf with mirror with hairdryer underneath that also contained kettle, tea, sugar, cups etc. Very awkward for doing hair, make up etc. Kettle etc definitely in wrong place. That said room was well priced and would stay again. Had breakfast which was very nice. Good location for Cheddar Gorge and Weston super mare.

If we hadn't booked we probably would have driven past as it looked very tired from the outside, needing a lick of paint desperately. But, we were pleasantly surprised when entering and it was clean, tidy and very nice. The room was huge, the bed was comfy and there was plenty of hot water. Usual kettle with tea coffee etc. Breakfast was in the pub next door, which again looked tired but once inside, it was lovely. Food was good and plenty of it. Good variety on offer. Would return.

Found the hotel very easily thanks to good directions. huge car park but outside looked a bit tired and in need of a refurb. reception was friendly and welcoming although we arrived at 2:53 and was told that we would have to go into the pub for a coffee as check in was not until 3:00! The receptionist did check and discovered that our room was in fact ready so we could check in but what would have happened if it had not been? Up in the room which was up to usual PI standards but was on the small size I switched on the heating which sounded as though it was going to work but did not warm the room. reported this to reception and was told that it had not been switched over to manual and it would be ok now. It wasn't so back to reception again. this time I was told that there were electric heaters somewhere but she couldn't find one at the moment but would bring one up to our room. 20 mintues and she arrived with the heater we stayed for two nights and had to use the heater all the time. At no point was the heating repaired nor were we offered an alternative room. The kettle was hard wired into the wall and was on a small table were there was the only mirror for make up and hair dryer. there were many other places the kettle could have gone this seemed illogical. And of course now only two tea bags per room unless you want another trip down to reception. we use PI's a lot and this sadly was our worst experiance to date.

Excellent service and facilities. Breakfast was a real treat, and Lexsey was very charming and helpful with our gluten free request. Will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Weston Super Mare. L & T Peart. ( Sunday 22 March)

Hotel very good but the restaurant/pub was poor food ok but closes early expecially at weekends told to leave at 9.30 pm found drinks also limited was run a lot better last Yr as we stay there at least 5 times a yr
