Taunton Ruishton (M5, J25) hotel

The location of this hotel was useful as it was close to the motorway, though it did mean a long drive into and out of town each day. The atmosphere was lacking any dynamism, and I rarely saw a staff member on my way in or out. The room was great - as all Premier Inns are. My only issue was the noise carrying from the room above. I've never been so disturbed by the sound of heavy footsteps - sometimes til really late. I wonder if the soundproofing between floors needs looking at. I was there to deal with a very sad circumstance, so I wasn't in a jolly holiday mood. Even so, I didn't get the same vibe that I have in other Premier Inns, including the one in Taunton North where I stayed last time. This felt much different. One thing that really got to me was the lack of parking. On two occasions, I arrived back there about 9pm, and struggled to find a space at all. IIt wasn't great.

This is not our first stay here and we have always found it to be a very nice stop off. Friendly staff, good breakfasts in a spotless eating area. This year the screen for entering my care registration was "not working" and I verbally gave my car registrations details to reception. Today I received a fine for parking illegally, although I had a confirmed booking. Lenny Henry never mentioned this could happen in the ads.

Well located with plenty of parking, the staff were all an absolute pleasure to deal with. However, the main reason for booking this hotel (during heatwave part 2) was because it had air con. On entering the room I thought maybe it was not on due to the wave of heat that met me. On closer inspection there was a slight puff of air coming out of the left hand corner of the unit which was doing nothing to cool the room. My friends and I had 4 rooms booked between us and only 1 of those rooms actually had air con working properly. The others at least had a fan in their rooms which was helping, so I went to reception and the receptionist who I will now love forever went and found me a fan for my room. The staff were wonderful, breakfast was fine, although I couldn't see any non dairy milk there which meant no cereal for me. But plenty of other items available. The huge let down for me was the air con, otherwise everything else was great

Excellent location and plenty of parking , excellent staff and superb breakfast. could not fault this Premier Inn in any way.

Thankyou for such a great stay. Our room was lovely and clean the kids had a great time and winning on the tombola. Great idea for the kids. The breakfast was hot and fresh. Thank you to Sonja for her help with directions and local knowledge
