"We stayed at both Premier Inn over the week and had a great experience in both"
We stayed at both Premier Inn over the week and had a great experience in both. This one is a little run down and the public areas are in need of a repaint, We saw at the other Premier Inn the corridors and stairs where being painted so i guess they are working themselves around each hotel. Our room was clean but without Aircon we much preferred the other which did have air con. Although they did have some smart fans here. Breakfast was ok but in a separate building across the car park a Beef-eater i think again run down.

"Average stay"
This hotel is ideally situated the reception staff were very helpful and friendly the rooms are quite a good size but omg the cobwebs were horrendous and we had a problem with the ventilation unit we never slept the first night but reception sorted it out after that . You have to request to have your room cleaned . We were there six nights and asked after three days but didn’t get done till the touring day . There is no aircon but every room has a good fan in but we had to clean it it was very dirty think place needs a good clean but having said that we would stay again but take a feather duster . The restaurant next door is part of the premier inn we tried to eat a couple of nights but were told no food it was only 6-45 and the managers attitude wasn’t good for a manager she said they were too busy . There was a lovely young girl called ruby worked there if only the other staff were that nice .

"Filthy"
Absolutely filthy. The reception had a missing space for vending machine which had apparently been collected earlier in the week and it was just a horrible corner of dust and grime which should have been cleaned after removal.
The hotel room floor was thick dust and when travelling with crawling baby, her hands and feet were black. The bathroom was poorly ventilated so the smell of damp instantly hits you when you walk in the room and little bugs crawling in the bath. There was also hairs left on the bathroom tiles from previous guest.

"Expensive night for what it was"
Stayed for one night in June, the room was not as clean as other premier inns I have stayed in. No toilet roll in the bathroom on arrival and the toiletries in the bathroom were almost empty. Didn't notice any signs on arrival where the disabled bay is to register car registration and as we have never had to do this in the past, assumed the car park was free, as stated on the outside board. Charged £57 from Horizon for the car park 2 weeks later who refused proof of our booking. It wouldn't hurt the staff at the Premier Inn to inform/remind guests on arrival to book in their registration if this is a requirement. For the cost of a one night visit we will definitely be giving this accommodation a swerve in the future.

"Too hot"
We chose Taunton East as it has a Beefeater Restaurant attached. The hotel did not have air conditioning, but we didn't mind this as we would never have it on overnight. Sadly the temperature of the room was far from comfortable, not really helped by the addition of 2 fans, each one directed on the beds. The main problem was that the window was fixed and could only be opened by about a 4cm gap. Had we been able to open the window properly, we may have managed to get some sleep. As it was, we had to keep the fans on all night and use no covers at all. Our eyes and lips became extremely dry due to the fans. It was the worst night's sleep we've ever had at a Premier Inn.
We were very sad to learn that all of the attached restaurants are going to be closing in early September and that there would be a limited menu in the evenings, appearing to be microwaved options. We are unlikely to stay at a Premier Inn in the future.
