"Avoid during spring and summer"
Avoid this hotel - unbearably hot. 28c night-time temperatures. Hotter inside both day and night. Staff agreed with the building complaints.

"AVOID"
We chose a premier inn because you new what you get, how wrong, no restaurant attached just a couple of rooms converted, our room was 108 , when we had a shower we could not turn the water off, one electric socket was broken, and it seems the room has a problem with moths as some of our clothes got holes in them, also the curtains had a lot of holes in. Cleanliness was a problem as crisps under seat cushion. We chose this hotel as we were visiting our dad at the musgrove hospital and because we had stayed here before but never again it’s as if there getting ready to close this hotel.

"How one person can so badly affect your experience, and the hotel’s reputation."
This is a mixed review - some good points but also some disappointing ones.
The check in … I made the booking for three families. Six adults, four children, one baby.
We didn’t notice until we got in the first room that the cot was in the wrong bedroom. It doesn’t matter if that was my mistake in the booking, a tech mistake, or the hotels, but what happened next mattered. The receptionist, when we told her, just kind of looked at us non-plussed. She made no suggestion of how to resolve it so we said we’d just switch rooms. She agreed. This became an issue when the key card was left in the room as they had different surnames!
On another occasion we asked for a second key card for a room and was challenged with “why do you need a second key card”. That’s a first for me! “Because I want one” was the reply.
The new fans in the rooms were very welcome and needed. They were also good.
Beds were comfortable and the shower was excellent.
For us the location was perfect and there was ample parking.
Breakfast. It is evident that the room where breakfast is served isn’t big enough. It appears that since the pub next door has shut, the hotel has had to create theor own dining space. I hope it was never designed like it is today at the outset!!
On day one the lady organising the room was rude, stressed, unhelpful and should not have been in a front of house role. Stack more cups, when there were already plenty of cups, rather than clearing a table for guests just seemed a bizarre decision/choice on her part.. I should have taken her name but that was my failure. The lady wore a black shirts with white spots, if that helps the hotel. This just created a completely unhelpful impression, first thing in the morning. The hotel had is as three separate families, and so 4, 4, and 2 in terms of tables. We wanted to sit together. She told us we couldn’t sit on a table set for six as that was booked in 30 mins. She then changed her mind, said she could push other tables together, and the other family never showed anyway!
Day two could not have been more different. Abby was super chilled (on the outside at least), smiled constantly and was very helpful and accommodating. Katie was also a delight.
Sadly for the hotel, for all of us, our experience was dictated by the first mornings breakfast and everything judged against that.
