Bridgwater North (A38) hotel

New updated room lovely, little extras like chocolate, extra drink sachets, water in a fridge. Iron etc. Disappointing food and service at evening meal.

Terrible. Location is in the middle of a commercial area. The chefs gone sick so cant seat people and they only had one beer on tap. The room is so hot it's like a sweat pit as no air con and the fan supplied blows out fluff and people's skin as its not been cleaned for gid knows how long. Never coming back here again

I was worried about coming to this hotel after reading some of the reviews from the last month, but thankfully we had no issues with the hotel itself. The dining area, however, is a different story. There simply aren’t enough staff, which means there’s often a long wait for food. That said, once the food arrives, it’s lovely. There also always seems to be something they’ve run out of. Make sure you pre-book a table, otherwise you may struggle to get in. We saw quite a few people getting frustrated with the staff because, despite there being only 3 or 4 tables occupied, they were being told they couldn’t get a table until much later. Cooked Breakfast is also no longer self-service, as you now have to order with a member of staff. Unfortunately, a lot of the continental breakfast items had already run out, and with only one member of staff serving, you’re constantly left waiting. It would definitely benefit from having more staff. Overall, the hotel itself was absolutely fine, but the dining service definitely needs some improvement.

AVOID AVOID AVOID Absolutely awful Sheets not clean on arrival. Staff in restaurant very rude argued with customers. Staff members lied about “national prawn shortage” to then back track and say oh no we only allow for 3 portions a day. Then lieing to other customers saying they had been rushed off their feet all evening so couldn’t seat them, when only around 4 tables were taken!!

We arrived to a warm welcome by reception, followed by a lovely meal in the restaurant, where Clay, Annie and Jacob treated us Royally !
