Shrewsbury Town Centre hotel

On arrival receptionist seemed abit disinterested. Not a great welcome. Seems like their receptionist desk as streamlined into a tiny corner now. Room was clean. Found bed to be uncomfortable along with hard pillows. Bathroom was clean but we only had 1 bath towel for 2 guests so had to share not great. Also no conditioner in shower. We had requested a high floor and a quiet room. Quiet room it turned out not to be. When we got back to room early evening we were kept awake from noise and laughter, seems we were above the bar. Also neighbours with thier activities were causing the TV to bang against our wall. Not great to hear. Then at 3 in the morning heard loud voices and laughter going past our room. To add insult to injury at a ungodly hour in the morning there was a delivery by a huge wagon right under our window. All this equated to not a 'goodnights sleep' as is Premier Inns guarantee. Breakfast was okay my husband had to ask for full english as there wasn't any. There were far too many people in just a small space. To be honest with all the noise and hustle and bustle couldn't wait to leave. We feel disappointed that our stay had so many negatives. 😞 Not great experience.

Stayed here for work. Good central location. Good atmosphere and quiet rooms. Staff very friendly especially Tracey and Adam in the night shift who were exceptional and stayed for a chat about the area etc. Would definitely stay again. . Breakfast was a good choice and freshly made.

We have a WAV so parking can be a problem sometimes but Premier Inn had closed off the only accessible parking even though there was nothing behind the barriers. When asked the manager said it was there fire safety point?? No idea..anyway he offered free breakfast. Our 'guaranteed' good night's sleep was ruined by the guy next door blasting his TV at max volume at 3am... No phone in room to call reception so went and had words myself. When I complained about this later I was told I should have gone to reception so there was nothing they could do... Breakfast, though free now, was horrible (except for the muffins). Had to wait for sausages, the eggs were cold and runny, plates cold, the toaster didn't work properly. When I did complain a few days later I was brushed off with excuses. Never again will I stay at Premier Inn.

So from the outside the hotel looks quite dirty, a company this big could maintain the look of the hotel, a paint job is all it needs, the inside is lovely me and my wife loved it, we didn't realise that we should have taken advantage of the bed breakfast and evening meal offer but we ate there anyway, NO Fish!! I had the Katsu chicken curry and my wife had the chicken makhani curry and for the price £14 each they were lovely meals but why is the rice rationed so much, just a tiny bit of rice with both meals, anyway the room was perfect, wifi spot on, would have like the usb ports on the TV to work, now onto breakfast, it was delicious, I love a buffet breakfast and you did not disappoint, your staff were friendly and efficient and we totally enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again.
