"Perfect Location"
Hotel is clean. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Staff lovely and helpful.
The hotel really needs some money spending on it. It looks quite shabby from the outside. The bathroom we had was not the best, with bath panel needing replacing and panel under the sink has been removed and not replaced properly. Extractor fan not working.
Car park charge has gone up from £12 a night in December to £14 a day. Pokey little car park doesn't warrant an extra charge, but it is not owned by Premier, but a company called Horizon.

"Premier inn close to centre"
Good location in terms of nearest to the city centre but our room on the first floor facing the road was noisy due to the constant traffic. A higher floor 2 or 3 and facing the back would have helped.

"Awful."
On arrival, the front of the hotel is dingy and depressing. It doesn't improve inside. Reception area was scruffy and rundown and the toilets were dirty and smelly. There was food on the carpet in the corridor. We were about 40 mins early for check-in and had to photograph our luggage for identification purposes before they would store them and also pay £2 to charity. The room was in dire need of redecoration and my son's room smelt of mould. And we paid £290 for 2 rooms, no food! They're taking the mick. Dont think Lenny Henry would be staying there.

Tired and in need of a good scrubbing!
Great location and food but won't rush back as very expensive.

"Not normal Premier Inn service and quality"
We have been using Premier Inns for over 35 years and this was our worst experience. On arrival, due to nearby construction work, we couldn’t find the car park. It was only when we were in stationary traffic that we saw a small notice with directions to the car park on the wall outside the hotel. Fine when you are walking past but not if you are driving past with your eyes on the road ahead. Surely an A-board [also known as a sandwich board or pavement sign] would be better? Just outside the car park there is a lift to the reception for wheelchair customers and customers with heavy luggage like I had. There is a button to alert Reception that someone needs the lift and I pressed it several times but no one came so I had haul a heavy case up the steps. The bottom lift door had several large cracks in the glass and the interior looked filthy. On reaching the reception, there were a few customers waiting but no staff. The customers said they had heard the lift buzzer but obviously no staff there. We tried to use the check-in machines but as the time was 14:40 it wouldn’t allow us to check-in till 15:00 which is fair enough. However, due to the room not being ready until 15:30 we didn’t get to the room 15:35. We had paid extra for a room with a view of the river but due to the trees being in full leaf couldn’t see the river. Incidentally, the gents toilet in the reception area has two cubicles – the latch on left cubicle wouldn’t work whilst the right one has no door at all!
