"Way below the Usual Premier Inn Standard - would not recommend not stay again"
The hotel is located well for the town centre, railway station, pubs, restaurants.
It is in need of a re- furb.
We pretty much always stay in Premier Inns when we go to a city/town however, we would not stay here again for the following reasons:
1) On arrival we were given a Double Room rather than a Family Room by mistake - the staff member did apologise & helped us to re-locate our bags but not a good start - just hassle.
2) The corridor and bedroom smelled stale - they need to get some window opene
d up and get some fresh air flowing every day.
3) The bedroom carpet had been hoovered but was generally dirty
4) The cutlery was dirty at breakfast
5) Only one lift working but no note on the broken lift to say this/explain why.
6) Herd of elephants in the room above 206 from 2am to 4am - no phone in room to ring Reception at the time and no one to tell in the Morning - see 7)
7) General absence of staff in the Reception Area ( especially in the morning when check out happens) so no one to feedback to face to face.

"Avoid the breakfast"
So disappointed in the breakfast at this Premier Inn. We stayed two nights from Wednesday 27th May to Friday 29th May. We booked breakfast for the Thursday and Friday mornings. We always look forward to a Premier Inn breakfast. Usually such good value and pleasant staff. Not this time. The Friday morning was particularly poor. A very curt young woman was replenishing the hot food and the chef who made an appearance a couple of times was just as bad. My partner couldn’t find any butter and she asked the chef who replied crossly ‘ there isn’t any’. The usual berry compote was almost gone and no fresh fruit like the day before, that is prepared apple and orange. I took a sausage and a tomato but no fried eggs and after waiting five minutes for them to appear I gave up. The whole atmosphere was rubbish to be honest. I have given the room three stars..it was a typical Premier Inn room.. but I would avoid the breakfast if you stay here. Shrewsbury is a great place to visit with lots of places to eat where you can have breakfast.

"Shabby condition. Noise problem."
This hotel has been allowed to descend into a shabby condition (see my 7 photos). It needs complete re-decoration. Also, we were woken at 1.00am & 6.30am by the thuds & bangs of one guest or more in the room above ours (so be aware that the floors in this hotel can conduct loud sounds to rooms beneath).

"Shrewsbury Hotel"
Hotel ok.
Lifts not working both of them. One stuck on the 3rd floor the other the 4th floor. After waiting 5 minutes pressing buttons.
No choice start walking. We are OAP. I,m 82 stairs can be difficult, stumbled and really had to hold the rail hard twisting my shoulder. Very painful, still is. A member of staff rushed passed us going up the stairs to see the problem. This was around 3 30 pm

"Open the windows!"
We always choose Premier Inns if possible. I’ve down graded this one due to hermetically sealed windows. Horrible sleeping in stale air. The car park has narrow parking bays - be warned!!
