"Premier Inn comfort , good food and easy parking."
We spent one night here before a hospital appointment at Gobowen orthopaedic. There is a large carpark and several spaces for disabled visitors, welcoming, friendly staff, a large ground floor room which was very comfortable and clean. Evening meal and breakfast are served in Oswalds Cross Inn which is next door. The food choice was the normal Premier Inn menu, well cooked and quickly served by helpful, cheerful staff. Cooked breakfast was individually prepared to whatever choice and quantity you wished. It was an improvement on the ready cooked in most PIs. The breakfast buffet was also good. Although there is road and construction work close by this did not detract in a way from a comfortable experience.
      "Don't do breakfast !!"
Little run down but good location, great staff but too few and breakfast was a disaster. 50 minutes for hot food to arrive, some food missing from the order, some inedible as burnt, some cold!! Breakfast ended as toast and tea. Can't blame staff they never stopped but clear there was not enough staff to serve an unlimited breakfast by table service
"A run down hotel worth avoiding."
This Premier Inn has gone seriously downhill and looks like it is closing. I spoke to staff and they have confirmed that it is to close, but the exact date is unknown. The decor is tired and worn, carpets are threadbare and it could to with a huge refurbishment. which it is unlikely to get. The attached pub the Oswolds Cross is equally run down with only one lager on tap and no bitter and VERY limited drinks. Overall do not waste your hard earned money on staying here. It is only the tradesmen staying there during the week which is keeping it open.
"Disappointed. Not a patch other Premier Inn's"
Nice comfortable bed but the hotel itself is in desperate need of an upgrade or at least a lick of paint. Walls are scratched and looking old. Check in wasn't great as the girl didn't take an interest in us. Long wait at breakfast even though it was quiet.
"Hotel adequate, staff good, rubbish WiFi "
First impressions not good, this Premier Inn is in the middle of an industrial estate, and next to a massive building site where there is a housing estate being built. Having said that, there was surprisingly little noise. Windows were double or possibly triple glazed, didn't open so we had to rely on the aircon, which was noisy. Room was clean, bed comfortable. We stayed 3 nights, had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. It was fine, but took a long time to arrive. There were just 2 waiting staff and they were rushed off their feet, we felt sorry for them, they worked very hard and were pleasant and friendly, but staff levels were inadequate. In fact we noticed that several staff worked in the restaurant and on Reception, and did very long shifts. The reason for just 3 stars is due to the lack of WiFi. We have stayed in a lot of Premier Inns and the WiFi is never very good, but this was the worst ever. In fact it was pretty much non-existent. One of the lovely girls on Reception (Anuska?) was extremely apologetic and tried very hard to sort it for us, even giving us a complimentary upgrade to 'Ultimate WiFi', but it was no better. We needed to book some tickets and the only way we could do this was to switch off WiFi and use mobile data. There are lots of complaints about this. Anuska said she had tried to take this up with Virgin and got nowhere, and that it needed to be sorted by the Manager, which it really does, but there was no evidence of a Manager, it seemed no-one was in charge and everything was left to the poor overworked and no doubt underpaid staff to try to troubleshoot problems. What has happened to Premier Inns recently? The hotels are badly run, shabby and in dire need of some tlc. And I see no-one replies to poor reviews, but I'd like fellow travellers to know what they can expect.
