Oxford Cowley hotel

Overall the room was clean and adequate but the restaurant service soured my stay. A booking had been made for a group of about 20 members who were staying in the site to attend a funeral the following day. A booking for evening meals had been organised and confirmed with the duty manager earlier in the day. On arriving at the on site restaurant, the family were told no booking had been passed on and no food would be available. The family were left to organise take aways. The family are to pursue compensation.

Could not fault the Premier Inn at Cowley - courteous, more than helpful. The room was a superior one, and I could not find any fault. We had to leave early due to an accident happening in Oxford, but Premier Inn automatically gave us a refund for the rest of our stay without even asking that we had no intention of asking for.

Room was quite nice. Bed comfy, had good solid sleep. You sorta know what you are getting. Staff though was a different story. We booked in for a meal for 5 o'clock as directed by the front desk. We went at 5 but the doors were locked. Then we found a sign that said use back door. After we eventually found it that door was locked too. By this time a few others had gathered. Looked through the wi dow at staff just talking at the bar. We was eventually let in about 5.15 and all but one staff member scattered. The guy said "we are not opening up till 6". When asked why he just said its our first day. Couldn't even get a drink. So we had to go without food that evening as we were booked in a show. The next morning I went down to book again for that evening. I was stood at reception whilst loads of staff kept walking from the staff room, past me and back again. No acknowledgment, nothing at all. After 15 minutes stood there like some fool we decided to leave a day early. I had paid for breakfast and everything but I can't stand ignorance. Worst Premier Inn I have stayed in.

Shambolic! no other word for it! All we kept hearing was ‘it’s day 1 of the changeover’ presumably from Beefeater to in house dining, however if you’re going to provide food & drink services, ensure your people are trained ~ that’s only fair to them never mind the paying customer. The bathroom smelt of stale smoke, there were cobwebs on the ceiling & this was a ‘plus’ room. Absolutely no one the phone or on reception to try and readings. I’ve been coming to this hotel for YEARS and won’t be back! Don’t waste your money (and STILL waiting for a reply for my complaint which was four days ago)

This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I will be passing information on to everyone I know. Totally unacceptable Premier in. Cowley Oxford Room 424 Spent night 30th august … Stinks dreadful smell Soap dispenser spiked and corroded Tap handle in sink chipped No plug in bath so not able to bathe Shower screen seal partly missing and hanging off screen door Milk pots curdled so couldn’t have a cup of tea
