Adequate room, booked for early admission next day at nearby hospital , but worst evening meal, food and service wise, that I have experienced in any hotel . Steak and chips , peas, tomato and mushroom took an hour to arrive, and were all of inedible quality. Staff unresponsive and unhelpful. Five of the seven draft beers not available, just Guinness and Coors. Other customers complained in my presence that their meals took 90 minutes to arrive, and staff gave no explanation or assistance.

The receptionist and room was fine. However, the evening meal was a disaster. We waited over an hour for our main meal to arrive which made it difficult for my wife to eat that late for medical reasons. In the meantime I was brought 2 meals I had not ordered. Several people who were in the same position complained as we did. Some walked out. When the meal finally arrived my wife's meal was inedible. At breakfast we were encouraged to order our hot meal preference of poached eggs on toast prior to getting our cereal and the poached eggs only (no toast you had to do this yourself) arrived as we were about to eat our cereal. This is the first time I have eaten the hot part of breakfast prior to the cereal.

Needs shutting down it’s a health hazard hardly any food available for dinner and what was available was terrible whoever’s cooking needs sacking and the service is just as bad and as for the furniture in the restaurant that all needs throwing away

My wife and I stayed here over a weekend. The room was comfortable with a nice and clean bathroom. The breakfast however was a complete disaster. The lady was rude and unpleasent. The worktops and the tables were dirty and the plates were marked and greasy. The kitchen would definitely not pass the hygiene test.

As far as the room went, the visit was ok. The problem came when without any notice the restaurant was closed and we couldn’t get dinner. No mention of this and no word as to whether it would be open the following night. One fellow guest said she had checked in an hour earlier and had not been told of the closure. There are no places to eat nearby so we ended up with supermarket sandwiches in our room! Another thing to beware of is the limited parking. Unfortunately my husband took the only remaining available parking space which was under a tree. The following morning the car was so covered with bird droppings that we had to find a car wash before starting out on our journey. Lots of unforeseen stresses that we could have done without.
