"First class service. We’ll certainly be back."
First class service from Jonathan and the Premier Inn team. We phoned ahead to let them know our delayed arrival. Jonathan and the team will really helpful in all respects.

"Tired-looking, Understaffed, Rude and abusive staff - 100% AVOID!"
Family of 4 - (kids 15 and 13) staying Aug 15th 2025.
You probably aspire to mare than this but - The hotel is 'tired but fine,' if you can get a room sub £100. Otherwise ...walk, seriously!
Our room (302) was clean enough. Check-in was 'ok.' They guy was disinterested but it was fine. We went into town and asked another member of staff about the bus. Tim gave us great advice and was very helpful. For those without transport the 400 bus takes you from right outside the hotel into town. Currently (Aug 2025) building at the Rail station requires a second bus but it's not far and you can walk the second leg if you prefer (about 7 mins). Buy group ticket for up to 5 people for travel all day for £10. Great value!
Next day breakfast was a disaster though, and kind of ruined our stay. we'd booked for 9:45am (it is advertised as running until 11am on weekends). I would advise going as early as you can and certainly to book it.
When we got there at 9;45am it was barren! Hardly any food. No bread, pastries, no yogurt, water and juices empty. Very poor. I asked if there was more food coming to be told 'no, they'd run out.'
I spoke to a female manager who was stressed, abrupt and rude and honestly kind of lost it with me. I wasn't impolite, I didn't raise my voice or swear - I just asked for breakfast. She said they were understaffed, had missed a delivery and that I could get a 'refund and leave' if i wasn't happy. She stormed off and I was later told was in tears.
I got the blame for her being in tears from the other manager - who denied she was stressed. It was pretty bizarre. Then, whilst I was talking to him she'd been listening from the office and came out shouting that I was a 'bare-faced liar.' It was honestly behaviour that reminded me of my teenage daughters on a bad day. I really don't mean to patronise but she stormed off and slammed the door like a petulant teen. We've all been there. I was told she was 20 and I think she's obviously under ridiculous pressure and I'm sorry for adding to it. At the same time her taking it out on me, publicly, really spoiled the rest of my day. My daughters were afraid to go back into the hotel to even get our bags - so that's not great. Stress is one thing but don't take it out on the guests!
I've had some hit n' miss experiences over the years with Premier Inn but I think that's it for me, I'm done with them. Whitbread, who own Premier Inn, have posted a significant reduction in revenue and a downturn in occupancy. They're closing restaurants and pubs and laying off staff. I think things will probably continue to decline - at least in the medium term. There are still some Premier Inns that offer decent value but owing to the hit and miss nature of the staff at Botley (if you can find them) - this isn't one. I wouldn't advise you to stay here unless you absolutely have to!

"Rude staff called 'Cacia'"
I stayed at Premier Inn Botley Oxford on 14–15 August 2025, and breakfast was a complete disaster — mainly because of one waitress (I believe her name is Cacia, though I might be wrong as I only overheard another waitress call her).
At 9:50am there were no napkins in the entire restaurant. When we asked, we were given tissues meant for wiping the floor. The croissants and pain au chocolat were gone, and when I asked about getting more, this waitress told me, in a rude tone, that it was “too close to 10am” and they wouldn’t make more to reduce waste. I showed her my watch — it was still 9:50 — and I only wanted three croissants for my family of four. She refused, said she couldn’t “bake only 3–4,” and told me not to speak to her “like that,” even though I had simply pointed out the time. There was also no yogurt, with the excuse of “no more stock.”
Earlier, when we arrived for breakfast, she was standing at the reception area, saw us waiting, and completely ignored us before walking into the side room beside reception instead of seating us. Throughout the breakfast service, she didn’t seem to help the other waitresses at all — she just wandered around without doing anything useful.
I honestly don’t know how the manager allows this kind of behaviour. She was rude, dismissive, and uninterested in actually serving customers. Premier Inn should be embarrassed to have someone like this representing their hotel.

"Cheap night away"
Location was good for Oxford. Hotel service was shoddy in parts and not the best Premier Inn. How to stand out ground when told there was no more breakfast walk ins after reserving a table..

"Poorly managed"
This had the potential to be 3 - 4 stars but they didn’t put things right.
1. Cleanliness
Family room on 2nd floor wasn’t clean enough. Told management immediately, they offered to clean it better or check out some other rooms to move on the 6th floor.
We didn’t want the hassle of re-packing up and dragging toddler and baby up there so said we’d stay. Cleaners left at 5pm and didn’t clean it.
2. Breakfast
Wasn’t informed at check in that breakfast can actually sell out. So we didn’t pre book, just arrived in the morning as normal and was turned away. There is nowhere else local other than McDonald’s.
3. Litter
Full of litter outside on the street when you arrive. Not what you expect to be ‘welcome to Oxford’. They need to ring the council and sort that out!
4. Lifts
Only 1 out of 3 small lifts in action. Very long waits at time with a pram. Almost 10 minutes in the morning with two kids.
