Oxford Botley hotel

Pros: -Air con worked -Relatively new hotel (doesn’t look tired/ worn in the rooms or in the corridors) -good amenities within 50 steps of the entrance. A medium sized co op supermarket, a coffee shop, a pharmacy, and a Tesco express. Cons: -2x lifts are broken. The Hotel is spread across 7 levels (including the ground floor entrance) but only has one working lift. If you only enter and leave at a quiet time this might be ok, but around breakfast/ check out time it’s too busy for one lift. -parking isn’t right outside the entrance. If you have a few trips to the car this can take a while, and you better hope it’s not raining. -the coffee machine was broken so no option for a coffee in the morning with breakfast -breakfast on the Sunday at 9:30 seemed like they couldn’t cope with the number of guests. The continental section was partially depleted when we arrived (no pancakes or muffins) and in the 30-45 mins we were there it was never topped up. I took a picture of it at 10:00ish as we left. Aside from this Juice ran out, the milk ran out, and most cooked items weren’t available all at the same time. Because of the various problems, for us I don’t think the stay was great value.

I was concerned about coming to this Premier Inn after seeing such a lot of bad reviews but please don't listen to them!! The whole of the hotel was clean and fresh. My room was comfortable and clean. Air conditioning was very easy to control and the bed was very comfortable. The corridors and public areas were neat and tidy. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but breakfast was great. Lots of choice and tasty, hot food. All the staff we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful. The views from the 4th floor were really good and I couldn't hear anything from the busy A34 right outside. In fact the hotel was silent at night! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the area.

Disappointing - Bedroom seemed neglected, Bathroom was dirty, and felt unhygienic. However staff were very helpful.

Not a great experience. Premier inns are usually pretty good value but not this one. Bathroom not clean at all, looked as if someone had been sick in the sink as there were food remains within the plug hole. This meant that the water wouldnt drain. When we contacted reception about this, they sent up a staff member to deal with it by removing the food debris with their hands. I felt extremely bad for this staff member as he had not been given proper supplies. The shower was also pretty grubby. The bed was clean, however following the dirt in the bathroom, i wouldnt recommend.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first, it’s a Premier Inn. The place is clean, the beds are comfy and the water is hot. And, given it’s next to the A34, the noise suppression in the rooms is excellent. What sets this one apart is the quality of the service from every single member of staff. It’s professional, attentive and fun if you want it to be. Duty Manager Kate Michael and the team under her do an amazing job. @PremierInn do NOT let this person leave your business, in 30+ years of business travel, Kate rates as one the top 5 people I’ve ever encountered in hospitality, at any level. Promote her, get her to train others, you won’t regret it. She and her team are what makes this Premier Inn a 5 star experience!
