Oxford Botley hotel

We stayed for one night only. Our room was on the side next to the busy A34. We thought it would be ok as the windows seem to be triple glazed. However the road was busy during the night so my wife didn't get much sleep. We phoned Customer Services on our return and was told we should have informed the hotel we wanted a quiet room. I expect all hotel rooms to be quiet and as we didn't know the exact proximity of the hotel to the road who would we know to ask for a quiet room. If we had been staying longer we would have asked to move. Also there was no hot water to our sink which we discovered as we were preparing to go to bed. In the morning as we were leaving the receptionist told us she knew about the problem and that we should only have turned the tap halfway towards hot and then waited. Usually you turn a tap fully one way or the other to get hot or cold water!! Perhaps a sign in the bathroom would have helped. In addition, breakfast was chaotic. A young boy seemed to be the main person on duty and hadn't got a clue. The yoghurt had run out, we had to ask for cutlery, I fortunately got the last tea bag as no-one was checking and refilling anything. The chef gave my wife a very grumpy look when she asked for vegetarian sausages and then overcooked them. It was all very poorly run. We have stayed in many Premier Inns and we have always had reliable service but this was a big disappointment.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for a few weeks and I’ve always found the staff Kate and Paul the managers so great and the bar staff Raz , Damien & Elishaia so accommodating always happy to help great gang of staff and the kitchen staff Sheila and the crew absolutely fantastic x

Arrived to find 1/3 lifts working. We were there five days and none were fixed in that time. First evening had meal at hotel. They delivered mine and didn’t deliver spouses til I had finished. Wasn’t that tasty either so we didn’t eat again in evenings there. No offer of cleaning rooms,. On second day, I requested it be cleaned except bedding change. Bins were left, toilet roll not replenished, no hoovering, just towels left. But when I say towels left, although two people, the policy now is to give you one hand towel to share, even when request two. This happened every day,Naomi had to trail to reception and ask for another, and on the last night, to add insult to injury, only one bath towel left for two. No replenished tea and coffee facilities either. The building is a bit shoddy, not usual standard. Breakfast was ‘ok’, we paid for the full breakfast. Again, only on first day were poached eggs or boiled eggs out. You had to hunt round different tables for cutlery and napkins. Buses 4a and 4b stop outside the hotel for Oxford so good to walk in as is quite a walk. Hotel is next to a dual carriageway but has some sound proofing. Car park is attached that is a private one so hoping it registered our staying here for free. The hotel is above a co op which was handy, and there is a lovely Indian restaurant opposite that is pricy for small but tasty portions. There is also an award winning chippy on the main road. My only shout out was to a Welsh lady who I believe may have been duty manager. I say that as she was run ragged handling reception, clearing breakfasts and responding to people, and always was cheerful and helpful. She needs a pay rise. Whoever is the manager here needs to look at their offer… it isn’t usual Premier Inn level. Would I stop here again? No.

TV broken, shower broken, no help or apologies from staff

My day was a disaster. To end up at Premier Oxford was a gem. Had major problems with the wifi check in, but with help and persiverience got through. Room good as expeted. Evening meal was good AS EXPECTED. The floor manager Paul and his team were excellent, sorting out my checking in, WIFI, etc. A great team, thank you. Slept well enough. breakfast good, as expected. Left feeling ready for the road.
