Banbury (M40, J11) hotel

Not great! Toilet too difficult to flush No toilet brush Toilet too low - difficuot to get up from Bed very hard 'Heating' blew cold air all night despite setting the thermostat Room had many scuff marks around it Check-in consoles didnt work Bedroom furinture (desk) tatty and veneer peeling off Parking was good and very near, the hotel was very clean and welcoming staff.

Arrived on time for check in. As I thought the premium rooms had been pre booked. I told reception I was here to unwind and relax. I was given room 110. The room is not as advertised. It’s a family room with issues but I had unpacked and was too tired by the time I realised. Gone are the throws, which I understand aren’t the cleanest item but made the welcome to Premier Inn certain. Furniture is scratched and cracked. Bedside table replaced with a round table so doesn’t match. Air con unit damaged and not working. Extractor fan noisy in the hallway after using the bathroom. Damaged walls. On the plus sign, the bathroom is clean and the water for a bath is nice and hot, and of course the bed is comfortable. But maintenance is badly needed. Is this to push people to spend more and pay for a premium room? If so, it’s working, but not an example of the reputation even a standard room has always offered. Please change the photos to match what you actually get and not what you hope to get.

Fantastic hotel and definitely a recommendation. No problem parking, hotel was spotless, staff smiley and friendly, room was fantastic, really clean and spacious. Food was amazing with quick, friendly service.

The staff were excellent, always friendly and helpful. Sadly, the rest of the experience wasn’t great. This hotel is very tired and scruffy. It desperately needs a refurbishment. There was no bath in our room, only a shower. The wooden surround to the shower was rotten and the silicone was black in places. The shower curtain didn’t do I a very good job of keeping water in the shower. The public areas were clean and tidy, but the whole place needs a coat of paint to freshen it up.
