Nottingham City Centre (Chapel Bar) hotel

Usually have a good nights sleep every time. Didn’t expect to be woken up with bright sunshine at 6.20am on a Sunday morning during a weekend away.

Awesome stay, was helped out by Shannon on Reception who was amazing credit to premier Inn, went over and above and premier inn should be thankful to have her.

We stayed for 1 night during the school Easter holidays in a family room. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the room & bathroom. It was a shame that we didn’t have a better view (we couldn’t see the sky, just a view directly into an office block) but the hotel is very central so I guess it’s to be expected. We were only supplied with 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel for 3 people so had to ask reception for more. We tried to use the air con at night but it dripped water a lot so was too noisy to sleep through. There is 5G but the free WiFi is very weak. The restaurant had no guests for dinner when we went downstairs but it wasn’t a surprise as there is every different restaurant & fast food chain within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We parked at the Euro parking a few doors down on Upper Parliament Street (NG1 6LD) which was super convenient. If you register your vehicle registration on the iPad at reception, you get a heavily discounted rate. (£11.50 for 24 hours) We booked breakfast but this was the first time since staying in a Premier Inn (and we’ve stayed in several over the years) where we didn’t have to book a table so we didn’t need to set an alarm clock which was nice. It was a buffet restaurant which we all enjoyed.

We booked 2 premier plus rooms for one night, compared to other Premier Inn’s they are on the smaller side. The hotel is really central and the parking was just around the corner which was £11 for 24 hours (remember to register your reg at the reception as it gives you a discount rate at the car park). When we arrived we were greeted by Kiren who was really friendly and help us get checked in. We paid for early check in for one of the rooms however both were ready so Kiren gave us access to both rooms, she also surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco which was really kind. A big thank you and well done to Kiren for really outstanding customer service. Thank you

Booked for one night with my husband. We had previously stayed a few years ago. My goodness has it changed. The whole hotel is grubby and tired. Our Premier Plus room wasn’t welcoming or pleasant, in fact quite dirty and worn out. We advised reception of our concerns and they went to check on it whilst we had a walk out. Our room, the bed was not made properly. The cups were chipped. The surfaces and fridge were covered in dust. The window was mouldy. The shower was mouldy. White marks on the bathroom walls. Badly worn and chipped furniture. Badly stained carpets. Black marks on bedroom walls. Reception offered us another room but he said they were all in the same state of disrepair. So no rooms resembling the advertised photographs on the hotels website. We declined and didn’t stay. We complained to Customer Services who refused us a refund. They stated, cleanliness and room condition is not covered under the Good night guarantee, no apology or empathy offered on what is essential Premier Inns lack of standards. Overall, a very bad experience.
